Mike Kelsey | 1 comments Greetings to all,

My name is Michael Kelsey and I'm new both to Goodreads and to this group. I've joined for both personal and professional reasons.

I'm now at the age where all I should really be thinking about is how to make life miserable for my kids, but instead I recently started a new small independent publishing company. I've spent a good deal of my professional life as a book designer and typesetter; now I'm learning about something I've always been suspicious of: marketing.

My business is called Inari Publishing and you can visit our website at http://www.inaripublishing.com if you'd like. We now have two books out, both by a writer from Montana named Gary J. Cook. These are called A Murder of Wolves and Lonewalker and both are listed here at Goodreads. We're giving five copies of A Murder of Wolves away right now, in fact.

So I'm here partly professionally, to find out what readers such as yourselves are reading, and partly personally, because I read a lot of mysteries and thrillers. My favorite writers are Rex Stout, P.D. James, and Ed McBain, I would say, but there are many others I enjoy reading. I've just started a book by Michael Koryta, who lives in my home town, and am enjoying it.

I published two books by Gary J. Cook because I believe he is an exceptionally fine writer, and I'm certain that many people would agree if they had the opportunity to see his books. I will not be hyping them again--I'm here to learn, not to bug people. But I'm happy to tell you anything you'd like to know about them, and if you write this type of book, I'd be happy to talk about that, too.

Thanks for putting up with me.

Bill Welcome to the group, Mike. You'll find lots of discussion about mysteries/ and writers here. If you want to promote your books, recommend you use our Author's Corner or the In the Press, Blogs, Sites corner. That's where we prefer to see that sort of items. Welcome again. I wish you the best of luck with your publishing endeavour.
