Hi all my name is Jill. I live in Texas, originally from Indiana. I like to read all diferent genres. Book clubs help me read books I might not have chosen on my own. I would love to chime in here as it seems there is always chatter going on. Some smaller bookclubs, while cozy, get echos from the silence at times. I a little over halfway through The Zookeeper's Wife at the moment.

That's a creepy one. I didn't fancy it much.

My favorite Stephen King is The Shining. The movies really did it a diservice. Both of them IMHO. I also really liked The Stand. The mini series for that one was pretty good.

Rose here. I also live in Texas, originally from New Jersey. I am 24/7 caregiver to my mom who has Alzheimer's (don't be sad about it, she's a gem and always happy and smiling!).

This has given me the great opportunity to be able to read, read, read. See, the glass is half full :D.

I belong to a local live book club, once a month, I love it! But, of course, once you become an avid reader, it's not enough, tee-hee.

You also seem to have a great sense of humor and I was immediately hooked by the group description, which cracked me up.

I think I'm going to like it here!

Hi Jill, welcome! I read the Zookeepers Wife ahile ago and enjoyed it. Actually visited the Warsaw zoo this summer which was cool. Such a moving story!

Leora, very cool you got to visit the Warsaw Zoo. Do they still have the extensive habitats or not so much? I love your name. The only other Leora I have known was my favorite grandmother. She was from Kentucky.

MaryZorro: a retired science teacher - great job!! Science was my favorite subject at school and the teachers were always the coolest. (800 years later I still have fond memories of my biology teacher, great woman, great mind!!)
