Meenakshi (mcoolshi) | 1965 comments @Anuradha Thank you so much for asking this question.

Okay here's my list (in no particular order)

1)Neville Longbottom (Harry Potter series)
He is brave. The tragedies in his life are probably worse than Harry's. It is one thing to see your parents die and know they will always love you. However, knowing that your parents would never remember that you are their son, would never love you like a parent loves his child is worse than anything I can think of. He is clever and impulsive. He is loyal. The fact that he appears to be a little good-for-nothing in the first few books is probably because his grandmother never treated him like he could be anything. She always sought her lost son in him.Hence, he was never confident about himself.

2) Finnick Odair (The Hunger Games series)
Do I even need to tell anyone why? He is just amazing and let's keep it to that.

3) Luke Castellan ( Percy Jackson series)
Even I don't know why I like him so much. Maybe because, at the end of the day he did what was right. It is our choices far more than our abilities that make us who we are. :)

4)Tobias Eaton/Four (Divergent Trilogy)
He is brave, handsome, clever, intelligent, selfless, madly in love......
What else do I need?

5) Haymitch Abernathy (Hunger Games trilogy)
He is clever, wise and on a scale of 1 to 10, 200% amazing!

6) Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (Harry Potter series)
First of all, he has got an amazing name. Second of all, I don't think there is any need to elaborate why he is everone's favorite, not just mine.

7)Lestat deLioncourt (The Vampire Chronicles)
He is evil, charming, dauntless, graceful, chic and French!

As far as female characters are concerned. These are my favorites:

1)Hermione Granger ( Harry Potter Series)
Intelligent, wise, brave, loyal, courageous, trustworthy, helpful, caring and what not! She is what I'd call a perfect badass!
She is undoubtedly one of the strongest female characters I have ever come across.

2)Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson series)
My reasons are the same ones that I gave for Hermione Granger

Somewhere or the other his line,"I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun",appears in every heart that falls in love.

Yup...Kostya is both passionate and shy at the same time with his inner stuggles of spriritual thoughts and contempt for falseness in others...finally he does realise that he is a human being after all!!!

message 88: by Rupali (new)

Rupali Rotti | 54 comments Dev from The Valentine's Day Clue. He's a happy-go-lucky guy who does many things for his friends selflessly. He's very sensitive, but doesn't show it... and he's very funny, doesn't mind looking stupid only to draw some attention.

message 89: by Craig (new)

Craig | 39 comments Sir Able in Gene Wolfe's Wizard Knight duology. He's good for the sake of being good, which sounds boring to most people, but I've known enough bad people to appreciate such things. And he's in touch with the Divine.
