thank you.
For option 4 (BTW, the 4 is repeated in the task description.), would you allow ROSEnberg for author?I would like to read another book in the Guardians of the Flame Series - The Silver Crown

Bea, thanks for pointing out the typo in the task. I'll get it fixed.
Sorry about your choice, though. It's just the straight name "Rose" I'm going for--no additions or variations. Can you use it for task 10.8 (with metal in title)?
Just as an FYI,
by Karen Rose Smith would work for either option 2 (daisy on cover) or option 4 (rose in author name). I plan to use it for the cover as I have a couple of books by Rose Pressey in my TBR pile.
JennRenee wrote: "would this work for daisy on cover
"JennRenee, yes that will work. Because they are so small, please point them out when you post.
Kathy G. wrote: "Does this count as a daisy?
"Kathy, I'm not sure if that's a daisy or a sunflower, but I'll accept it as a really big daisy.
Bea wrote: "Donna Jo, I think I found one that will work:Sacred Country by Rose Tremain"
Bea, that'll work.
Deanna wrote: "Just as an FYI,

I had a hard time with the small GR picture because the flowers in the foreground looked like dandelions to me, but when I went to a larger picture I could tell they were daisies. Be sure to cite this post when you post.
Can you use middle initials for option 3? I was thinking of reading some Edgar Allen Poe for "ae."ETA: Actually, I found another book that'll work for option 3, but I guess my question still stands in case anyone else might want to use Poe.

yes, you can use middle initials if you want.
Bekka wrote: "May we use an author who's first name is Rosemary for option 4?thanks!"
Sorry, just the four names as given.
Does MaryJanice Davidson work as an author? Her first name does seem to be Mary, but I can never tell if they just squished the Janice too close for a middle name.

Ok! that makes sense - thanks!

Christine, I'm going to say it won't work because it is smooshed together--sort of like JoAnn.
DonnaJo, may I use The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society for option 4?it has two authors, but the first author's name is "Mary." Are books with two authors allowed?
thanks!

Bekka, yes that will work. Two authors is fine as long as one of them meets the criteria.

ha! I was just about to ask permission for this. Thanks for looking out. :D
Option 1: The Ups and Downs of Being Dead by M.R. CorneliusOption 3: Diary of a Mummy Misfit by Amanda Egan

Good choices, Claire.
Can I read for option 3 something by J. R. R. Tolkien? I wasn't sure if the initials needed to include last name.
Amy C wrote: "Can I read for option 3 something by J. R. R. Tolkien? I wasn't sure if the initials needed to include last name."Yes, use it. They don't have to include the last name.
Donna Jo wrote: "Suzanne wrote: "I think the girl is holding a daisy, right?
"Yes, it looks good."
Cool, thanks Donna Jo!
Sam wrote: "Does the large purple flower count as a daisy?
"Sam, thank goodness the cover enlarged easily. I thought at first it was a morning glory, but it looks pretty daisy-like to me now. Just be sure to mention this post when you post.

Thanks Donna Jo.

work for Option #2?"Yes it will. (I just saw this cover in the grocery story yesterday and thought it would work for this task.)

Choose two of the following options and read a book for each one, for a total of two books.
1. Read a book with the words "up" AND "down" in the title and/or subtitle. No Series names. They may be part of a compound word, like upside or downtown, but not in words like Group. ex. Up the Down Staircase
2 Read a book with a picture of a Daisy on the cover. It may be a photo or a drawing, but it should look like a daisy
ex.
Required: post picture of cover.
3. Many letters of the alphabet look similar (if not exactly matching) when turned upside down. Using upper and lower case and depending on font, I have matched the following pairs: AV, ae, bq, dp, jr, MW, NU, sz. I will allow only these pairs and the sideways match of HI. Choose a book by an author who has any of the matching letter pairs in their initials as their name appears on Goodreads. You may use the initials in either order--as AV or VA, for example. Ex. "pd" pair: Philip K. Dick
4. The Daisy or marguerite (bellis perennis) was commonly known as Mary's Rose. Read a book by an author with the name Daisy, Marguerite, Mary or Rose. The name can be first, middle, or last, but no variations- exact spellings please
