Grumpily twittered for Anil. That sounds awful Anil. It seems that even women and innocent bystanders were atacked with gas as well. Frightening!

Anil (loykalina) | 303 comments Turkish police have been using tear gas and gas bombs in any demonstrations recently. They don't care whether it is a peaceful demonstration or not. They even used it on a 2-year-old toddler.

Oh my dear sweet grumpy George Seaton you're so sexy when you say that! Roger Kean, an author I idolize as I idolize his internationally famed and lauded artist partner Zack, very highly recommends (listen up people!) your book Big Diehl I know I want to read Big Diehl: The Road Home because it's rumored to involve Romantic Love. In fact our Roger highly recommended reading your many books as you are an exceptionally great acceptable writer!

Hearts ♡♡♡ and smooches, Lucas

I regret to say that this message from our own sweet and bright quite ordinary member Danni Keane was tucked away in a thread nobody reads. Please support our magnificent vaguely talented Danni by voting for her book as June Book of the Month if you are a YA LGBT member. Hurry time is running out on the voting.

Here is Danni's formerly hidden message:
——————————————
Danni Keane

My short story Not Letting Go has been nominated for June BOM over at the YA LGBT group.

Not wishing to influence anyone's vote at all {Danni coughs wildly} but just to let you know that not an awful lot of people vote on the poll so any one vote can make a big difference.

Oh, and also again not wishing to influence anyone {sound of more coughing} the other two books Not Letting Go is up against are both books by real, proper authors and everyfink, so a vote for my story is a vote for the underdog and would be hugely, hugely appreciated.

Elorie Decker | 220 comments Would love to vote but it seems I cant /cause I'm not a member. Guess I could complain about that.

message 3514: by Goesta (new)

Goesta I wish to complain that absolutely anyone can easily and instantly join the YA LGBT group. What ever happened to keeping our youth safe?

message 3515: by Elorie (new)

Elorie Decker | 220 comments Well, I have to complain that all the youth I know don't want to be kept safe and in fact I have to be kept safe from.

(Alas, I know not how to put lines through words. The irony does therefore suffer.) I've just discovered Roger Kean and, and only three chapters in, his writing is so clean, so perfect that it is remarkable and certainly will prove to be addicting. He is, for me, a great find and I would never have found him save for this here complaint department.

Oh, almost forgot... Much love, hugs and kisses... Reconciliation is soooooo sweet...(right behind me here is where I'd inset a line through a word, or maybe two...)

Not anyone. I have more than once totally messed up trying to join the simplest list. AND I will complain that I often cant even get to my yahoo group page because Yahoo tells me that my name/password haven't been used, would I like to join? Is there a Yahoo complaint thread? That's where I also belong.

Goesta Anil wrote: "Thanks, TJ. Unfortunately, it is getting worse. There are claims that police are allowed to use real bullets."

It's just so wrong!! My J is refugee from China, after Tiananmen. This kind of thing has never happened to me personally, but it makes me so angry. The arrogance of governments, and the blind obedience of their minions. When it's so obviously not intended to protect the people they're supposed to serve.

George Seaton (georgeseaton) Anil wrote: "Thanks, TJ and Macky. There are claims that the police threw gas bombs at a hospital and they are throwing gas bombs over people via helicopters."

Anil, sorry I haven't been keeping up with this... Does all of this have to do with the Syrian refugee issue in Turkey?

message 3534: by Anil (new)

Anil (loykalina) | 303 comments No, George. It started as a demonstration against demolishing a park, one of the remaining few pieces of green in central Istanbul to build a shopping mall. When police started to attack at people, it turned into a demonstration against the recent government policies.

message 3535: by Elorie (new)

Elorie Decker | 220 comments Everyone is so angry and they have every right to be, but too many people are taking out their rage on the wrong people. The innocents are being demolished and that is the greatest tragedy of all. Part if the reason I am for gun control (not taking away but monitoring better) is that normally reasonable people suddenly develop the most awful power complexes when they pick up a gun. I am so angry about the innocents who die in the name of freedom to bear arms. If they could only connect what is happening overseas, etc, to what could happen here.

Under pressure from opponents of its longstanding ban on gays, the Boys Scouts of America finally lifted the ban for youth members but continues to exclude gays as adult Scout leaders.

What are they saying to gay kids? They are telling the kids you can dedicate your heart and soul to the great principles of scouting and work yourself numb for the cause but the minute you become an adult you are a faggot again and you are no long welcome here you degenerate scum.

The BSA Statement of Values and Code of Ethics says every council should have a Code of Ethics which has a Statement of Values and the values include "Inclusiveness and social justice and Respect for pluralism and diversity."

Such are the goals of scouting until a boy scout gets too old to be a boy then he becomes a man queer pervert.

It's still an archaic organization cruelly out of step with reality and the will of the American public and mentally and morally aligned with the likes of the "Reverend" Phelps and Mel Gibson.

The Boy Scout motto? Respect, Dignity, and Homophobia.

this is like the boy scout version of DADT, like we should be happy with baby steps. Except we're not babies.

Zack wrote: "My biggest complaint is that Macky just isn't vile enough to be moderator."

C'mon Macky. Zack so very rarely honors us or anyone with a comment but when he does speak you better listen because he is always right.

Get out your claws and rattle some cages. Outfit your chair with a whip and paddle and smack people around. I tell you Zack is never wrong; I have learned that the hard way and advise you to be strictly obedient —not because he is a living legend around the world for his gay art and cartooning— but because you too will learn he knows everything and you'll regret not paying attention.

I know, it's a double standard.

On the one hand is at least they are trying. Change takes time and they have parents like the idiot who said some very stupid things the night I caught the announcement on the news (the comments were so backward and old fashioned that I was floored by them) to deal with.

As scouts rise through the ranks and the old guard begins retiring things might improve [optimistic much?].

On the other hand, I can't improve on your comment, because it's dead accurate and all the more sad for being so. Those kids are getting a raw deal.
