How very irritating to have to tell Gabbo that this excellent novel revolving around a crime thriller and the redemption of its main character has me gripped is s grindingly long story. There ain't nothin' gay in it though.

Poor sleep, have pain in my neck again and now the right hip hurt a lot more and pain pills do not help. I have a period of unbearable pain and bad sleep again, body hurt, and I am very tired and really want to cry :-( nightmares about that I will die and have that dream the last 3 days :-(

Macky (mactut) Grumpy greetings complainers. I'm having a Macky moderator moment and just posting a reminder of the rules again for us all, including our wonderful terribly annoying new members who I am sure have haven't read the rules and could couldn't recite them back word for word because they're so vigilant and on the ball bored with them!

My one serious moment (haha! Me serious.... yes Im laughing too, ) is to stress that unfortunately if any naughty words slip through, the comment will have to be deleted so pretty please on being careful with " fluffing and fuffing" if you get my drift. As you know being an open group we have to be careful around that.

I have just had to really tell myself off for posting one of my own stories with the S H one T word in it. I fell out with myself for a few minutes but Ive come round and I think I'm friends with myself now! Making me alter my post mumble mumble ......

So here are the rules in all their aggravating glory: all important but
Rule 2 Especially Important

1. In the Post Complaints Here topic all posts must be posed in the form of complaints.

Hint: For variety consider starting your complaint with I am miffed, annoyed, irritated, displeased, aggrieved, nettled, hurt, offended, put out, resentful, upset, vexed, irked, disgruntled, chagrined, piqued, in a huff, peeved, cheesed off, narked, irritated, P.O.’d, enraged, etc.

If you wish to say something positive when posting a comment use something like "I am really annoyed that I can not tell you how wonderful Lucas Lyons is considering he's a dumb jock.

2. This is an open group so there are not any age restrictions, therefore there can be no use of profanity (especially those 4 letter words—you know which ones) and no photos that show naked men below the waist.

3. Don't complain about or criticize other members or their comments. Nevertheless you may criticize the moderator.

4. Straight, gay and people of all sexual orientations are welcome and intolerance will not be tolerated.

5. Feel free to complain about the rules.

Unfortunately Ive realised that I am now in the firing line for being criticised, so if I tell you that as I'm writing this I think I'm coming down with a strange tropical illness that I caught whilst on my weeks holiday near Blackpool, a very tropical * cough* seaside town, that's making me feel all feverish and sorry for myself, that you'll take pity on me and be all nice and comforting and not grumble at me for being all stern ( * sniggers* ) and Mistress Macky Moderator... Dash it! Its not going to work is it? OK I'm ready for the flack, but just remember I now have power and a great evil laugh!

Thanks my grouchy friends. Catch you later.

I am vexed if I was responsible and resent it if I was not. Does rule no. 2 equal George Carlin's Seven Dirty Words?

message 3306: by Goesta (new)

Goesta As someone who dissolves like the witch of the (north? west? midnight hour?) in the vicinity of rulebooks, I am miserably clueless as to what Mistress Macky is going on about (other than asserting her supreme authority, which could be most appealing in her upcoming incarnation as motorcycling hottie Mac), and prostrate myself (preferably before a certain mignon minion of hers) if I was cause.

I am further vexed and hexed that I haven't yet decrypted the Noble pun.

"Averin is a protein contained in Oat that is similar to gluten." This does not bode well. I am allergic.

"Aver... ignoble... Ig Nobel... have her... no bell" No joy.

Averin | 1962 comments Rubus chamaemorus (Greek chamai "on the ground", moros "mulberry") is a rhizomatous herb native to alpine and arctic tundra and boreal forest,[1] producing amber-colored edible fruit similar to the raspberry or blackberry. English common names include cloudberry, bakeapple (in Atlantic Canada), Knotberry and Knoutberry (in England), Averin and Evron (in Scotland).

I am complaining about that I am so tired and sleepy that I am going to bed and hopefully can sleep 14 hours and without pain *fingers crossed* , I really do not know if I am happy or annoyed that Macky are so good to tell about the rules?!? Good/great that she is responsible, but bad when we forget the rules or just can not find out how to tell something good news. That really confused me if I want to tell something great and going the right way with both doctors and ressources for help in the home?!?

I am still not in the best mood, with pain and nightmares. I really hate the dreams about that I die, illness etc.

Headache too, because that rule just confused me :-( positive to bad?!? How the h*ll can I write that?!? Easy for Macky, Goesta etc. Just confused me :-( :-(

Though I cannot imagine living with the reality, dear brave Helle, I am hurting vicariously with you. However, I do assure you, even though the rules look so simple, my mind goes utterly blank when I encounter a list such as that, most of the time I simply pass out; not nearly frequently enough do I awaken in the firm embrace of an able-bodied enforcer. So I am as confounded as you are.

Hi Ijeoma,

I am annoyed at myself for not knowing the answer to this question.

Most of us in the Anglican communion have always called our male priests father. In the US Episcopal church female priests are usually addressed as mother or reverend. (Or in the case of two woman in the US, one straight and one gay they are called Bishop which is not allowed in the UK...yet.)

How are most female priests addressed in the Church of England and how are you addressed (besides Ije the TweetAway Queen)?

Love and happy hugs, Lucas

message 3327: by Jerry (new)

Jerry I am chagrined to say that I was raised (mostly) in the Presbyterian branch of Protestantism, therefore I grew up with pastors. I found my true form of worship in the Anglican community in my 20's, but being from the west coast, that hotbed of informality, I was taught to call our Episcopalian female priests by their name and drop the "father/mother" business. If I called any of the male priests at All Saints Pasadena "father", they wold look around thinking I was addressing someone else. Everyone seemed to be on a mostly first name basis. I have addressed our (gay) female Bishop as "Bishop". There are those parishes where the cleric is called by a title and I have been known to use one, but I've not had the opportunity for using such with a female priest. So I too am interested in Ije's reply.

message 3328: by [deleted user] (new)

Our dear sweet and lovely Lucas have learn me a lot of things in this complain department about Culture, history, religion and sexuality.

I never having to say father of a priest in our church, we were always on first name and I only had contact with the priest during my confirmation and when I sang in the choir of the church at one time as a teenager.

So this you are telling me, do I not really knows about in Denmark, this should be your religion that I've come across from time to time in the city.

I always respected these people and had for a short while'm going to become a nun myself, when these people help others and the same with priests and monks.

This is what I can tell about our religion, Protestantism in Denmark.

Hi Ijeoma,

Hello Lucas and Jerry

It depends on the church. Some use father or mother, some use reverend, others address their priests by their first name. I find that people use all for me. At Southwark Cathedral I have had people call me Mother or Reverend. These have mostly been people who do not know me. At my parish church St Philips, I am called Ije by people who know me. Visitors to the church call me Reverend. We have a church school and the children there call me Reverend Ije, although the children at our Church sunday school call me Ejaaaaaaaaay, normally in loud excited voices. Outside church I am often called Reverend. The guys at Kaleidoscope (where I volunteer and work on LGBT rights) call me Rev or The Rev.

At my main place of employment which is for the mayor I am called Ije, but my official title is The Rev Ijeoma. It is unusual for self supporting priests to be so formal in their secular work places, but over the years I have had real difficulties working there (not from the Mayor) I hasten to add, but from other civil servants, so I like the formality because it sends out a message that I am not to be trifled with :)

So generally I am called Reverend or just Ije. Every now and then I get called Sister or reverend sister, normally by passers bye who see me in my collar and think I am Roman Catholic.

Of course here I am the Tweetaway Queen. :)

Averin | 1962 comments I am enraged that my thyroid medication, which a brand I've been faithful to for 21 years, is going off the market for at least a year. Now I will have to go back to pharmaceutical roulette until a replacement dosage/substitute is found. Blood tests every six weeks. For more than two years I told doctors that I did not think the dosage I was lowered to was right, apparently this potency (they keep trying to call it an odor problem) problem has been known for some time. And no freaking doctor (3) thought to tell me.

JustJen "Miss Conduct" (just_jen) Hello, Averin. Do you still have your thyroid and are taking medication in lieu of that? I ask because my actual complaint (to follow the rules) is that I must have mine removed in a few weeks. Hopefully just one side, which would allow me to live off the medication. Will know in two weeks after a biopsy whether they will take the whole thing. Fun stuff.

And I'm also complaining that I must have another surgery this year, which will fully deplete all my vacation/sick time and having to go without pay since the time will not cover all the time I need off before the measly benefits kick in. Grrrrrr. :(

Wow sorry to hear, surgery sucks. Yes I have mine, but it's non-functioning, I was told. When I was first diagnosed, I was crushed. The doctor said, "It's no big deal." And I said, "Well yes it is because now I have a condition for the rest of my life." I stuck with Levoxyl because it worked better than any other (supposedly a 1-4% variation over the generics). The manufacturer has changed hands three times and this is the second time their 'process' has affected me.

Well, that sucks ovoids, for both of you. I'll throw my supposed thyroid problem into the mix. Seems to be a medical fad, I hardly know anyone who doesn't take any meds for it. I'm on 100 micrograms 'Levothyroxin-Natrium' (-sodium to the English-speaking world I believe), and as far as I'm concerned it's about 'as effective as sugar pill', except that it pleases my Doctor when she looks at my blood values. I didn't know there were alternative medications (she claims they're all the same).

I want to complain back that the very clever and comely Averin referred to Lucas' rules. My rules? I'm just the official Dumb Jock. Macky is the one and only Moderator and as such in charge of the stupid goat-gizzard rules now.

When I founded the group I wrote rules that have as yet not been changed but not one of those rules (Macky's rules now) says you cannot you cannot whine about orientation in the in the "I wish I didn't have to" section. You are certainly free to say "I wish I didn't have to go to the freaking orientation next friggin month."

The only place that must follow Rule 1 is this section "Post Complaints Here."

Rule 1 says, "In the Post Complaints Here topic all posts must be posed in the form of complaints."

If you are not in this section (Post Complaints Here) then you are free to phrase comments in any the donkyturd way you fuggin want to phrase them, except the games of course.

Now I want to complain that I complained about this but I thought an explanation might help you. Plus everyone must understand I am only the Dumb Jock and all the power lies in the dainty but fierce claws of the magnificent Macky, whose humor, empathetic heart and good cheer despite her own problems is a magnificent example for us all.

Hugs and the latest player stats in most sports, Lucas

Averin | 1962 comments So that jersey is Violet, huh?

I'm going to kvetch that there's no where to compliment the concept f the lousy word games that soak up time yet may result in my youngest actually graduating elementary school. His language arts teacher called me this afternoon to tell me he will flunk if he didn't hand in an assignment he's had TWO weeks plus the extra time of the three day weekend to complete.

No draft, no idea… Argh. I started tossing random animals, things from this mornings news. While I am horrified that may lead to fanfict writing some day, at least he's getting it done.

No thanks to the lousy word games here.

I am greatly pained to hear about the thyroid issues among us. (This is my first complaint on the site, and I am mortified that it is about thyroids rather than writing and writers, or books and stories.) I miss the 95% of my thyroid that was removed long ago, and I abhor the consequential inability to lose weight easily. I detest the once daily Levothyroxine--a wee blue pill--that appears to have no real value because the endocrine system moves as slow as molasses, is rarely perky, and, quite frankly, something that some days I think I could do without. Ahem...and all that...

It is my deep sorrow that women are not in charge of all the money in the world (except no $ should go to nasty ultraconservative right wing nuts like Sarah Palin.)

My fellow members we need to save the children by giving all the money in every family to the mothers in families that have moms.
