I called the restaurant and the books are still there and they will hold them for me until I can pick them up this evening. So they're not lost! But I was seriously bummed this morning

Glad they turned up!

Hey, the SNL skit I wanted to share is called "Dailey Affirmations with Stewart Smalley" I just browsed YouTube but I couldn't find my favorites. Stewart Smalley was portrayed by Al Franken, now a U.S. Senator... is that right? So I found more than I could sift through.

His most famous quote is " I'm good enough and smart enough
And doggone it, People like me!"

Hate to say it, not a complaint. (Heh heh)

I get tired physically from time to time. It stinks I am not going to be available to play internet as much as I did the past week.

I have to go to the doctor. It cramps my style.
It's out-patient visit. But I don't like this particular doctor. I plan to
postpone it for as long as possible. I do not want to share at this time what sort of doctor it is. Doesn't matter. I do have other doctors that are better and nicer and I have worked with longer.

Never get passed like a buck in the health care system.
If you don't like something about your health care the only one who can do anything about it is you.

It's tiresome. Sometimes I call it the Turnstiles.
Later and thanks for reading. S

I know the feeling, though blessedly it's only my eyes give me trouble – contact lenses and glaucoma don't mix! What I hate most is having to sit in the hospital's opthalmology clinic corridor waiting because the hospital air is so arid it dries out my lenses so when I get seen and have to take them out, they never want to come out easily.

Last time I went to see a doctor I returned home with some scars on my psyche xDDD Seriously... There was this lady, far in her seventies I think, sitting next to me, reading 50 Shades of Grey and crying over it. Seriously, it was traumatic. I can't imagine what she could find there cry-worthy... O.o'

ha, and when mine get too dry they fall out by themselves, which is also frustrating...

Gah! Doctors! Soooo crazy. Yeah, getting past around the medical field isn't fun:( I am finally "stabilized" with mine and am down to two. Was 4, thank goodness. 2 1/2 hr drive one way when I have to see any of them makes me thrilled to be down to 2. (unless things change.)

Wish you luck with the doctor. Yes, you have to be an advocate for your own health.

message 6911: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you. I like reading your own healthcare experiences. I mentioned less time for me on internet... this happens a lot. But I'm slow to withdraw and won't be gone very long. I have a hypersensitive streak because the internet can be very surprising.
For example. I read a BBC article about at least 5 or more pets and strays .... cats in Croyden, London that are being targeted by a serial killer. The details are very graphic and sad. Mutilation and it bothers me. That and it's a cold spring. Maybe I'm giving up what stresses me out the most in a weeks time?

It's happened before. I told my dad about this "Cat-Ripper" in London... he said, " don't say it in front of him..." :) our family cat had just walked into the room.

Yea, it's a drag, for sure. I may have misphrased myself. I meant look back on the week and eliminate some stressors or,at least tone them down. I do fall asleep at times lingering over the kindle. Lingering on a word to write. It's funny ha-ha when I lay on my back and hold the kindle straight up with my arms. Then, of course, each time I fall asleep the kindle drops onto my face and wakes me up.
I dreamt a good dream about rockabilly party to adopt cats. Sorry to ramble. I'll check in directly here, I hope. Play what I can. I been high maintenance, imo. And thanks for the players to remind me. I can come and go. Anyone make sense of that? Sounds like a Clash song. Ha.

Have you seen the affirmation memes that use quotes from 50 shades of grey? They are definitely tear-jerking. If I find the link will share.

message 6919: by [deleted user] (new)

Have not seen the film nor read the books. The first time it came to my attention, a lady friend told me how she was getting caught up in it. She was embarrassed to admit. It was odd because she was telling me of the book while we sat in a community garden. The vines laden with harvest.

I saw it posted on FB. Before the movie. It's a satire. Quotes from the female character , the background stock images of flowers and nature and stuff. I searched briefly. If I find it will post.

Hehe. When the wind whips up. My guess no dry until Sept. Oct. Nov. But I'm no farmer's almanac. I want to retire to an arid climate. On the sea. Get away from the North American Atlantic. Maybe. Ever heard wherever you go you take the weather with you?

message 6924: by [deleted user] (new)

It's a compliment really. I'm very drawn to the Games and have fun participating. It's improving my meter, my rhyme, and hopefully improving improvisation and collaboration. It's fun!!
I bet it's the best group on GR. I haven't figured out yet... how to keep up with my reading while at same time playing. It's my own fault. Call it inability to multitask. I find it funny ha-ha. To go on small hiatus because I get more reading done when not logged into the internet. I have a speed reading book... it's taking forever to finish.

Tj my poor sunburned friend (and mother of a fine son and grandson) have you used some Solarcaine on your sunburn? Solarcaine Spray has Lidocaine which relieves the pain. Works for me anyway.

Hugs, Preston ♡

Wren (wrenreaders) | 339 comments on the good side, i am most likely getting a part time job, and when i say part time i mean id only be asked to work 12 times from june to november. so im not getting much but itll be experience on my resume for next year, which is good!

thanks everyone :)

today was especially crappy though. i got flashbacks from abuse (thanks english teacher for deciding to read THAT PASSAGE FROM THE BOOK OUT LOUD TO THE CLASS AND TELL YOUR OWN ABUSE STORY LIKE ITS NOTHING) and i cried in class. i almost got sick, it was terrible. nobody saw my tears though (shout out to long hair)

then taking the bus home when i was walking to the stop some man starting randomly screaming at this woman calling her a number of vulgar names and it was horrible. poor woman. shook me up too

then i freaked out because on the bus we passed a blocked off area full of police cars, firetrucks and ambulances! woo hoo great day for all, it seems

then i come home to burn my mouth on pizza

Does he have a TA or someone who helps in the class? If he does, they might be the better choice to go to for help. If not, is there a tutoring center at your university? You might go there. Either way, hang in there, remember to breath, and good luck!

In my experience nothing including life itself is entirely black and white or entirely good or bad. At one time it may look all bad but sometimes the future bring things that are good. There will always be things that bug you but it won't be that everything will bug you. Things take time so wait and see if something better is down the road—not everything but some things.
