Preston | 20148 comments I am complaining that the book on Julia's blog Crewel by Gennifer Albin sounds interesting as a fantasy/mystery. Of course Julia has some thoughts on it so check out Crewel on Julia's blog at:

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I just like to complain everywhere…

message 6013: by Wren (new)

Wren (wrenreaders) | 339 comments I want to complain about myself.
I am addicted to Dairy Queen, and just chocolate and ice cream in general. Its super unhealthy for me but it tastes so GOOD!
I'd also like to complain about how I can't find a Pagan or Wiccan group in my city or region. Sure there are nice people online and on goodreads but I want to learn in real life. The only one I can find in my region is 18+ unless you have a guardian with you, and I'm not dragging my foster parents to a Pagan gathering. This is very frustrating for me.

Preston | 20148 comments @♥★Julia Mar 30, 2015 02:18PM

Dragging you foster parents to a Pagan gathering would make a good story. It could be amusing or scary or just a story about the conflict or lack of conflict that could ensue. In the story after the Wiccan gathering you and your foster parents could go to the Dairy Queen for cones and a talk about what you just experienced.

Is Dairy Queen Hiring? The benefits could be good :-)

Seriously I know it's almost impossible to get a job as a teen with no job experience. Sorry. I don't think you'll just be dumped on the street when you reach 18 years old. Does Social Services have any job programs working with employers? Go to the Job's Service (usually referred to as the unemployment office) and see what kind of jobs might be available when you're of age.

What does Social Services do when you become 18? Are they no help at all getting a job and a place to live?

when I turn 18 the foster parents stop receiving money from social services therefore I become just a person living in their house. the usual outcome is moving out.
my social worker is going to help me try to get a job, and I may apply at Dairy Queen lol

If you get a job at DQ we are all going to be so jealous of you, especially Lori, Ije and Roger who live in England where they only have a regular Queen, not a Dairy Queen :-)

Wren (wrenreaders) | 339 comments I'd like to complain that I have lost any and all respect I may have had for certain religions. These religions stole from other religions, won't even admit it, and have some disturbing af stories in their "holy books". Some of my friends are these religions and I can't even look at them the same way anymore.

message 6032: by Ije the Devourer of Books (last edited Apr 06, 2015 09:25AM) (new)

Ije the Devourer of Books | 14524 comments I have a lot of friends who are religious and plenty who aren't. Religions can be similar to political beliefs in that they are personal. I am Christian but i have friends who are muslim and plenty of friends who don't believe anything at all. The most important thing is that all of us stand by each other and we respect and love each other. In times of crisis my friends have been there for me and i have been there for them. The most important thing is not really what people believe but how they love and i would like to complain (because it has to be a complaint) that many people religious/non-religious fail to grasp this time and time again.

I think it is something we need to think about everyday. What does it mean to love? Love is the greatest thing of all. I have to complain about myself and say that i am still learning what it truly means to love.

Roger Kean | 17278 comments Go well, ije oma and thank you for the tip to read Half of a Yellow Sun. What a great book. No wonder she got the Orange Prize. Would I be complaining about the film if I'd seen it, I wonder?

Ije the Devourer of Books | 14524 comments I am so pleased you enjoyed the book. I haven't seen the film. I know some of my friends didn't like the film as much as the book but that is so often the case.

Thanks for getting the meaning of my name (big grin)

I would like to complain that somehow Preston has translocated me from the SW to Merry Olde England. Much as I would love to live on the Queen's fair isle, I am stuck living next to the river that, when asked, one of the members of Duran Duran did not know actually existed even though their most famous song Rio (Rio Grande) make references to it! Hrumph.

Lori it's just that you are so smart and wise and caring that you deserve to live 'on the Queen's fair isle' with a degree from Oxbridge in something you love that pays a lot of money. Enjoy the sun.

message 6040: by Roger (new)

Roger Kean | 17278 comments I'm complaining that a British GR friend who complains about my writing in American-style English pointed out (in his opinion) the ignorance of Yanks when an author asked him for advice on Britsh-English usage but insisted the great combined universities Preston thinks Lori should have had a degree from are actually known around the globe as "Camford" not "Oxbridge". Oh well… I guess they're both idiots who don't represent either side of the Atlantic :)

PS the above-mentioned GR friend and (I presume) the unmentioned authoress isn't a CD member, soI haven't broken any rules.

Preston | 20148 comments Roger wrote: "...the great combined universities Preston thinks Lori should have had a degree from are actually known around the globe as "Camford" not "Oxbridge"..."

I need to make it clear that Oxbridge is much funnier that that author's silly Camford. Also Oxbridge has a whole Wikipedia article while Camford does not. See:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxbridge
Camford is just a passing reference in the Oxbridge article in Wikipedia which is fully backed by Roger as a valid encyclopedia which means Lori and Preston are geniuses!

message 6043: by Eros (new)

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments I'm not saying names as I feel that would be rude to simply mention the person's first name, even. I hate it when one makes a roleplay group and another comes along appalled to discover that information within the rp was taken from another website while links are still provided to the said website in question.
I am unsure if it is simply because I care not for the thoughts of others, but only the consideration they give to my groups or what, but I have been feeling rather attacked when one comes along to claim me as plagiarizing particular information that fits to the setting and theme of the roleplay group. Not to mention the person in particular tends to not fully look when it says this has been inspired by... or a link is provided giving more in depth information on the subjects that I have not claimed to be of my own creation...it truly drives me up the wall when people have the nerve to attempt to out someone for a crime that they have not committed and I feel such a thing should be considered a crime punishable by a lengthy sentence within a penitentiary for the suggestion of uncommitted crimes.

It is like being called a thief when you stole nothing or a liar when you speak the truth...it is truly troublesome to thin the world has nothing better to do than point fingers at someone other than themselves!

message 6044: by Preston, Moderator (new)

Preston | 20148 comments Hi Jacob,

It's been a long time since we've seen you so you must be really teed off.

If you give another person credit or use "inspired by…" that should do it as far as giving credit for a Role Playing Game.

I'm sorry this has been as problem for you. I hope everything works out.

Best wishes, Preston

message 6045: by Lori S. (last edited Apr 07, 2015 11:42AM) (new)

Lori S. (fuzzipueo) | 2809 comments I think the problem isn't you, Jacob, but the people coming into your site and not reading the attributes properly or they're just skimming the text, not actually reading or comprehending the information. It's easier to make accusations than to confirm information. Which is a sad commentary on such people. >sigh<

Eros (spiritually_evolving_always) | 566 comments Hello Preston,

Yes you are right...I try to only post here when I truly have complaints. I was ticked for the last time and I was quite proud of myself when I retaliated in a mature and far more fashionable manner than what they started with. lol

Lori S,

You are absolutely right. As an amateur writer I have come to find that people who claim such accusations simply do not have the mind capacity to fully comprehend what is set ebfore their eyes...To me accusing semoone of a crime that is quite offensive and illegal is the work of half-wits.

Thank you both for your support hopufelly I won't have to let off steam again, but hopefully I continue to be apart of thsi amazing group of intelligible people.

I apologize for the inconvinience if you have difficulty reading any of this given my dislexic mind tends to wonder off when I become frustratted.

Jacob I hope you have no reason to complain anymore but if you do I always welcome you coming here to discuss what's bugging you. So certainly come when you need to complain but also stop by and say hello sometime so we can keep up with what's going on.

That's nothing, I'm disnumeric which means I get to speak to numerous strangers on the phone because I can't copy a contact number down correctly. And Lori is the smartest, ever since Preston moved her to Britain and awarded her British citizenship. (see 6066 above… ;-)
