Complaint Department discussion
POST COMPLAINTS HERE
HOORAY! I'm so sorry, but it's so hard to complain about such an enlightened policy of the Russians for Sochi…http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2013/12/10/...
So lovely, a load of ghettos for protest. So clean, so simple, such an elegant solution. All praise the Putinistas!

My holidays would be a lot happier if Rogue and his victim had a lot more skin showing :-)
Your wish is granted inside Hot For Boys: The Sexy Adventures Of Rogue. There's still time to write to the North Pole and ask Santa to bring you a copy, although he might be busy trekking with Harry at the South Pole right now ;-)

Congratulations!
I hate waiting for grades to post, I feel good about most of my classes, but then there is the nebulosity of gpa. Math was never my thing and no matter what recipe I've read, gpa remains unknowable to me.

You have two 3 hour classes in which you made an A.
You have two 3 hour classes in which you made a B.
Multiply the number of points by the number of hours:
4 x 6 hours = 24
3 x 6 hours = 18
Total = 42
Divide 42 by the number of hours
42/12 = a GPA of 3.5
If your system gives points for plus and minus, the total when the score is added up is going to be be higher, but the principle is still the same:
For each class, multiply the number of hours by the points assigned to your grade. Divide by the total number of hours you took. The result is your GPA.
Hope this helps.
>cyber-hug< while you wait.

Good grief and little fishes! I hate to argue, but isn't 42 the meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything? How can you possibly divide the Universe by 12? And my g'pa was an old gent who everyone loved.
Okay, grumble, rumble, the problem is self-exacerbating. 35 years in January, 5 semester colleges/universities, 2 quarter college/university. 212 units transferred in, 70 unit maximum, 2.86 overall, 3.7 in my major. I have 50+ classes that are in the category "the following courses have not been used for G.E." except that's not quite true. Never mind. I await Thursday

I'm glad you knew you g'pa, I never knew any of mine. but I did know the love of one of my g'mas. Does that count?

Thank you. Only have a couple days left and I MUST complain that I still have three exams, 2 short response papers and 1 history paper to go. It's squeaky butt-cheek time!
Averin wrote: "Never mind. I await Thursday."Nail Biting Time! At least you find out Thursday - I have to wait until AFTER the holiday and AFTER I ... well ... graduate. Isn't that just silly - I'm going to graduate and I don't even know what my grades are for my last semester. Stupid, stupid university.
Now that I've checked (thank you) commencement is May 17 but grades aren't due until the 22nd. There could be many egg-faces, but hopefully not me. Or you.
Averin wrote: "Now that I've checked (thank you) commencement is May 17 but grades aren't due until the 22nd. There could be many egg-faces, but hopefully not me. Or you."Congratulations and Bon Chance while you bite your nails until May. Out of the four classes I took this semester I only NEEDED to take one, and that was to complete my minor in history, so unless I FAIL all four classes I don't think these a chance that the university would withhold my diploma. And there's very little chance of me failing one of these classes let alone all four of them. So, I'm in pretty good shape.
But it's still worth complaining about. ;)
Stupid university - graduating people when the grades haven't been posted.
Awhile back I realized that there was no way I would be able to finish all the books I want to read before I die (I know, very depressing, but that's the way I am).So now a friend has sent me this:
http://what-if.xkcd.com/76/
Why can I not have enough time to read everything I want to read. Soooo many books, soooo little time (left).

Nothing like completing units "in residence" and not really for my degree. I wanted to take Law and Sexuality in American History, but it's going to be cancelled as it fulfills no G.E. requirements and only 10 (probably history majors) students registered for it. Which is a shame as I really got into John D'Emilio this semester in my Intro to LGBTQ class.
Yeah, I know the feeling. In the last two years my university has laid-off/fired 100 instructors as a cost-cutting measure. That meant that the instructors left had to pick-up the slack and have more students in each course section, which meant those instructors had less time to teach the fun classes with more specific, and interesting, topics. I almost had course cancelled on me at the start of the semester, but luckily it wasn't. Although I have had two courses that I would have liked to take but I was unable to take them because they were not being offered during the usual rotation when they would have been.
Yep. Mine has statements on 'impacted for this program,' or for the over-sixty program (whew, good thing I didn't wait that long), on and on. I know two people who are history majors because they couldn't hack their way through calculus and so switched from business. Another switched to communications for the same reason. But when I transferred in last summer and had to wait for Orientation before registering, I and many other history majors could not get into the historical methods class, a basic requirement of the major. For Spring, they have three sections but are going to cancel one that I know of due to low enrollment. I wonder how many history majors they lost when students couldn't get that class last semester?
I am not complaining because we had over 12 inches of snow in Albany, NY since that is not unusual but I am complaining that last year I bought a brand new top of the line snowblower as a spare in case my trusty, expensive three-year old snowblower broke down and now both of them are broken so I had to shovel my over a hundred foot long driveway plus the side walks. And then it snowed again today. More predicted for later in the week. I am definitely complaining that the snow blower fixer tried but couldn't fix even one snowblower today. Brrr + Grrr
Preston wrote: "I am not complaining because we had over 12 inches of snow in Albany, NY since that is not unusual but I am complaining that last year I bought a brand new top of the line snowblower as a spare in ..."Snow sucks. Although, if it snowed here, maybe the cat pee smell upon my front porch, left by other people's cats would go away?
I must complain about snow too. We don't have any!! It's almost Christmas and the ground is just wet and muddy! This is Finland for crying out loud...
I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to send what little snow we've gotten in NW Ohio (a lot less than Preston got) to Finland so Helka could have some. I HATE the damn white stuff ... er ... snow that is.
Helka wrote: "I must complain about snow too. We don't have any!! It's almost Christmas and the ground is just wet and muddy! This is Finland for crying out loud..."I am complaining that Rick is getting Helka to take his pitiful little dusting of snow when I have 14 inches of snow (12 inches plus a recent additional 2 inches) in Albany, NY plus I can offer 0ºC temperatures or lower (currently at 4:00 pm US eastern time is is -6ºC). Photographic proof upon request of qualified receiver of snow.
So NW Ohio only got a couple of inches, big deal. I'd still be more than happy to send it to Finland. As for Preston's 14 inches ... size queen! ;P
I shall complain that it is currently 65°F, 0% precip, 59% humidity & wind 0 mph.Muahaha! All right, we do need rain and it is promised for tomorrow.
Someone else must have complained about the feline odor; for an hour and a half, guys armed with power washers blasted all three floors of the building.
Averin wrote: "Someone else must have complained about the feline odor; for an hour and a half, guys armed with power washers blasted all three floors of the building."It's the power of the Complaint Department in action!
Preston wrote: "It's the power of the Complaint Department in action!"Is THAT all it takes!?!
If I'd only known...
And all the crap landed mostly on my next-door neighbor's side, not nice as they are decent people not given to disturbing nocturnal activities.
Preston and Rick, I'd be more than happy to take both, the 14 inches and the two inches off your hands ;)
I hate the fact that you've either got or not got snow and either want or do not want it (this is a do it yourself weather kit). Currently it's 3ºC / 38ºF here in lil' ol' Ludlow, and the sky is blue east to west, north to south, while elsewhere this night storm-force winds have removed roofs and chimneys, blown high-side vehicles from roads and bridges, blown a sailor overboard, flooded Bristol city centre and Cardiff. To the both and the sound it's all destructions, snow and blizzard. But all calm and sunny in Ludlow…
I am complaining that Roger's sky is blue but my sky is black (although it might get brighter after sunrise.)
I'm moaning that Preston has to endure a black sky, but I'd guess it's getting lighter right about now :)
Absolutely! I thought I'd be clever and chose a digital media project and 4 page paper over a 9-11 page paper for my final project in one class. Stupid idea, impossible to stay focused on written narrative and visual at the same time.
Now I'm down to only two short response papers to finish up. What am I going to do when this is ALL OVER?I know --
READ Boys of Disco City and/or A Life Apart!
I wish to complain that New Mexico has jumped on the bandwagon of affirming and legalizing same-sex marriage! Hmph!New Mexico Supreme Court: Same-sex Marriage Legal

I hear sleep is an overrated activity. I'd rather be reading too.
Lori wrote: "I wish to complain that New Mexico has jumped on the bandwagon of affirming and legalizing same-sex marriage! Hmph!"Yes, but I must complain that Ohio HAS NOT! And Gov. Kasich wonders why more people don't want to move to a state that legalizes treating some of its citizens as if they are a lesser form of life.
Lori wrote: "I hear sleep is an overrated activity. I'd rather be reading too."Sleep would be nice. I could use some sleep.

Nope. I must whine that apparently professors are required to turn in their grades by today but official posts won't be until the 6th. Going by Moodle, I've got two A's and a B minus. I had an A plus going into the ill-advised final project.
