Hi, I hope my question could be answered. I searched the discussions and did not find my answer. I need to have a book I read in 2013 which, I'm rereading in 2014 count towards my 2014 Reading Challenge. How do I do that if the book is counted for 2013 Challenage?
Gabriel it should work if you do a search for that book and mark that you are currently reading it. Then when you finish, mark it as read. I think it would work.
How do I delete a book from currently reading? I am not going to finish it so I just want it deleted.
Pat wrote: "How do I delete a book from currently reading? I am not going to finish it so I just want it deleted."Go to your currently-reading shelf (My books -> currently reading) and you can remove it from there.
HELP. I just have a quick question and if someone could answer that, I would really appreciate it. During the goodreads challenge, If I read a huge, thick book and put it as "read" … with the challange mark it as ONE book or more than one book if the challenge notices pages or length or even percentage??
does size matter? lol
The challenge doesn't care about book lengths--goodreads will count each book as one book regardless of how long it is. Sorry! I know that probably wasn't the answer you were looking for.

I'm trying to add my review for Lolita to the September 2014 group read review page and I noticed that next to the name of each person who has posted their review, it says something like "rated it 4 stars" and when you click on it, that links to their actual review. I can't seem to figure out how to do that - can you walk me through it?
Emmy, if you add your review to your own profile (like you would normally for any book), because you're a member of this group, your review will automatically be pulled to that page.
Thanks, Kara! I added my review to my profile earlier today and it hasn't shown up on the page yet, is there anything else I should do or does it take some time?
It wasn't there today, so I went ahead and just copy-pasted it as a comment. Thanks for your help, though!
Tasha, you can put
before your spoiler and
after it, but you need to replace the []s with <>s.

cool it worked
Hi, how do I turn my book titles into links. I either can get titles or the whole link but not the title as a link also. I tried to follow the html directions
Hi Libby! If all you need is the title that links to the book, you can click the "Add Book/Author" button above your post and use the box that pops up to search for your book. However, that won't allow you to format the link in any way (bold, strikethrough, etc.). If you'd like to do that, you'll need to get the link to the book page and set it up like this, replacing the []s with <>s:
[a href="LINK HERE"]The Taming of the Shrew[/a]
It will look like this:
The Taming of the Shrew
And you can put other formatting around the text part (The Taming of The Shrew in this example) and have it show up correctly:
The Taming of the Shrew
Does that make sense? Please let me know if there is anything I can clarify further. Unfortunately I can't just give you the code to copy-paste because Goodreads automatically adds HTML effects.
This was very in depth and useful info, but you forgot to mention changing the font color to emphasize a book's title. How is that done here on my Goodreads mobile app?
Hi!For the past 2 years ive been able to add a widget to my blogger page to show my progress. ive looked and searched and i cannot find it for this year!!
Can someone please point me in the right direction!?
Thanks!

Kara or Lesley: I tried the square brackets embracing my book title; not only was it not highlighted in a blue, but the square brackets and the words within 'h ref= LINK' also showed up in my status update. Help me please to rectify this. This occurred while attempting to write my The King BDB latest update.
Hi Gwen, the square brackets need to be replaced by <>s for it to work properly. Using square brackets as an example is the only real way to demonstrate code, because otherwise Goodreads just converts it to the intended formatting. Also, make sure there are quotes surrounding the URL. I hope that resolves the issue - if not, feel free to ask again.Claire, here is a link to the 2015 widget: https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/.... I'm not sure how it works as far as embedding in blogs, unfortunately.
Is there a way to edit a post? Maybe I am overthinking (and possibly my OCD) -LOL. I have list of book types in My challenge post and want to update with title/author. Thanks in advance for assistance @;-)
Hi Shelly,Yes you can edit a post. On the right side bottom of your post there is a tab you can click on called "edit".
Thanks Jodi- I am using my GR App on phone- it appears edit isn't an option. Looks like i'll have to wait to use my computer. Thank you again for assistance! Happy reading! @;-)
Yeah, the Goodreads app lacks a lot of features, and editing posts is one of them. I pretty much only use the app for adding and looking up books on my lists.
Hi Mods!I'm curious if there's an easier way to access my personal challenge and corner pages, except bookmarking them via browser? Is there a GR option like "add this to favorite topics" or something? I have thousands of bookmarks and sometimes it's hard to navigate :) Thanks!

I'd love to know this, too, thanks!!

Unfortunately, no. I access mine by a bookmark. If that doesn't work for you, the other option is to make sure your name is in the thread title, then you can use the search function and use "only topics."
I know Brian put the links to his corner and challenge on his Goodreads profile "about me" section. Those are not reliant on saved bookmarks if you use multiple computers, which might solve your problem.

Thank you.
I notice that lots of PPL have threads for their own reading goals. Do I create one myself? and How? or does a "Admin" do it for them?
You are free to make one yourself! This topic has some more information about how to do that. If you have any other questions about creating your personal challenge thread, please let us know.
I don't know if this is different than Melissa's question... but is there any easy way to find your personal thread in the 2015 Personal Challenge: 1-50 discussion without searching through all of the pages? Is the easiest way just to book mark the thread? Thanks!
The best way is to bookmark your thread for easy reference. You can also go to the search box for this group (left sidebar) and type in your name. When it pulls up the search, click the circle button that says "only topics" to narrow down the search.

Thanks! :)
How do you set up your corner? I'm a little confused. Is there a post somewhere here with instructions? Thanks!
Stephanie, please see the instructions here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks so much! Worked perfectly :)
Stephanie, you can create a link by grabbing the web address and using this format:[a href="WEB ADDRESS HERE"]LINK NAME HERE[/a]
But you'll need to replace the []s with <>s
Just have to say, every time I see the title to this feed, the Leann Rimes song "How do I" runs through my head. Anyone else have that problem:)?
