Little help for my school project

Hello!
I am making a project of empire/regency style and fashion.

I have searched pictures and information about that era and found some great material (among others a video of 'Pride and Prejudice' mixed with catwalk scenes).

As I am Austen fan I include some pictures of the Austen movies into my presentation. And then I thought if someone remembers some good quotes from the books about dresses, style or fashion. Anyone? I do not know the books by heart, but maybe you do? :)

(and please include page number as I have to find the translation :) )

I can't remember the quotes exactly but there are a few good ones in Northanger Abbey - I will try and find the exact quotes for you! But Northanger Abbey would be a good place to start :)

The books are available to read online - The Literature Network (http://www.online-literature.com/) and Google Books (http://books.google.com/books) have all of the Jane Austens in searchable formats, so you can look for whatever you need.

I do recall in P&P that Mrs. Bennet is glad to hear from Mrs. Gardiner about the latest fashions and "long sleeves", and Mrs. B starts to describe the lace upon Mrs. Hurst's gown before her husband protests against descriptions of finery. Mr. Collins cautions Elizabeth not to worry about the simplicity of her dress when preparing to dine at Netherfield. There are some references to trimming bonnets, and of course there is Elizabeth's dirty petticoat.
In Sense and Sensibility, Lucy Steele makes some very impertinent inquiries into Marianne's hair and dress and how much she pays for her laundry.
In Persuasion, Sir Walter hesitates to send Mary a hat and pelisse because it might tempt her to go outdoors and "grow coarse".
Northanger Abbey has that conversation between Tilney and Mrs. Allen about muslins. Muslin is the popular fabric in NA - Catherine wears a sprigged muslin with blue trimmings, Tilney has paid only five shillings a yard for "true Indian muslin", Miss Tilney wears a very pretty spotted muslin, Catherine debates whether to wear her spotted or tamboured (meaning, embroidered) muslin. Mrs. Allen is pleased with her silk gloves, and with the fact that Mrs. Thorpe's lace is not as fine as hers.
In Emma, Mrs. Elton protests that she has a horror of finery, but asks how people like her gown, her trimming, her hair and so forth.
