He is a tamil writer and all the books are in tamil only.

Then his profile name should be likewise. I merged the two (and a third one I found under just சுஜாதா), and made the combined profile சுஜாதா.

I also removed the author photo, as it had no legitimate copyright info.

David, think of GoodReads as a library not a bookshop. We don't care if the books are out of print, if it was ever published under that name, it stays.

Think of all the people who have those editions, that want what they read/own on their shelves.

Rob, you have probably already noticed but your profiles have been combined (by staff) and the final version renamed to Rob Hart as you wanted.

We do NOT merge profiles in different languages. I'm not sure of the validity of the fan translation, but I will leave that to another librarian with more experience in that area.

Please don't merge profiles in alternate languages in future! Each book now potentially needs to have Wiktor Noczkin added back onto it.

All books with Wiktor Noczkin on the cover will need that added to the their record with Viktor Nochkin in primary position.

From the librarian manual:
"Authors with books published in multiple languages should have their names dealt with similarly to those with pen names. All editions should have the primary author name as the standard or most common Roman (that is, English-language) version of the author's name. Editions published under another spelling of the name or the name in another language should have that name listed as the secondary author." (emphasis mine)

Basically:
Viktor Nochkin goes into the first Author box
IF the cover shows another spelling, then put that spelling into the second box.
Once done, please add a librarian note to Wiktor Noczkin's profile - see Viktor Nochkin for an example that I have just added.
