Carol Neman | 469 comments Tayla, regarding 'Time Patrol' by Poul Anderson, I just Googled him on Wikipedia and found out some interesting things. First about the 'Time Patrol' series...there are 11 books in this series alone, starting with the one you have listed here, written in 1955, the last one being written in 1995. (a 40- year involvement with his characters of this series, wow!) But he has several other series, including some of pure fantasy and some of historical fiction. Also many non-related novels...a very prolific writer. He was very interested in space itself, and politics...he saw the United Nations as the best hope for world peace, and some of his writings depicted the different ways a futuristic society could solve its issues, especially of government vs self=government. It sounded like he was first and foremost a sci-fi writer, though, and I'm glad the title caught my eye as I'm an avid reader of time-travel lore. I will probably get around to picking this as one of my reads eventually, so thanks again for the heads-up. PS - did you enjoy the book? If so, what?

Tayla36 | 274 comments I did enjoy it. This particular volume is an omnibus collection of short stories and novellas.
It's science fiction because of the advanced technology, but since the patrolman are traveling thru time, there is a lot of historical stuff too.

I especially liked the story "Delenda Est" where someone changed something in the past, and the patrolmen find themeselves in an alternate timeline.
