L.F. Falconer | 25 comments My biggest challenge seems to be coming up with an enticing cover synopsis. My first novel is terribly lacking in that respect. I think my second novel's back cover copy is decent, but I'm having a terrible time coming up with anything for my third book which is the sequel to my first. The type of story it is doesn't make it easy. It is somewhat of a romance with a hint of fantasy. Here's what I have so far, and please keep in mind this is a first, rough draft :) and would appreciate any and all feedback:

She tried to run from damnation and skidded headfirst into purgatory. Only one man can offer her heart salvation now and he rides a pale horse.

In this sequel to Hope Flies on Broken Wings, Collie seeks a new life far away from the sea and her haunting memories. On the road from Donnel, she is suddenly thrust into the care of a young orphan who will ultimately lead to her destiny, but upon reaching refuge in the border village of Sark, she finds herslef ensnared in a love quadrangle between two brothers and the girls who desire them.

Hi Erren - as discussed already on Facebook you can count me in for your blog tour.

Ernest J Swain (ernestjswain) | 1 comments Hi Erren,
There's an excellent blog run by Morgen Bailey (@morgenwriteruk). She does an 'interview' with you. She'll send a Q & A sheet that you fill in to cover who you are and what you've written, etc., and she adds bits to make it appear that it's an actual interview. All done by email and it's brilliant exposure. I believe it costs $15 but I thought it good value. Morgen also does a 'spotlight' which is a similar thing but I understand is free. Her blog has a huge following.
Best wishes Ernest J.

Erren Wolf (errengreywolf) | 18 comments Dear Michael, I appreciate the invite, but I was waiting for you to explain HOW I go on your blog. I don't understand the process. What do I do?

message 57: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) I simply got in touch with people who run blogs and asked them. I also posted in groups like this on Goodreads asking for people willing to join the tour. Check out general reading groups and science fiction groups.

I think I have found everything I can on Goodreads and have been looking around the web.

Michael Brookes (technohippy) There are nearly 300 sci-fi related groups on Goodreads. I'm sure there's people there who can help:-)

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show_t...

For blogs I just Googled and worked my way through the results.

Erren Wolf (errengreywolf) | 18 comments I looked all over Goodreads and I never found those scifi groups! Thanks! Yeah, I've been Googling, too.

message 62: by Michael (new)

Michael Brookes (technohippy) When cold calling the blogs, don't be surprised if you don't hear back from many of them.

message 63: by Erren (last edited Apr 01, 2013 04:08PM) (new)

Erren Wolf (errengreywolf) | 18 comments Thanks, Michael.
I checked the sci-fi groups and there is one blog, but it costs money I don't have at the moment. I also searched the net again for blogs and found another pay-for-service site. I bookmarked the two blogs for now and hope I'll be able to use them later. Finding blogs for a scifi book is difficult and finding one for free is even more difficult.

Sawney Hatton | 1 comments Looking for something different? Check out my debut novel DEAD SIZE, "a fantastic blend of detective story, dark comedy, and waking daydream” and "an irreverent middle finger to homogenized, white bread, mass appeal literature.”

In other words, you might hate it! But I hope that doesn’t stop you from giving it a try, if you like books that “push the boundaries.”

It’s available on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Size-ebook... as well as from other ebook retailers (some online stores may still be pending as of this writing).

Write without fear!

Nikki Chartier (nikchartier) I saw this thread over a week ago, and I'm *so* glad I've finally figured out which group it was in! I was going to share this link after seeing all the talk about struggling to find bloggers/reviewers in certain genres.

http://www.theindieview.com/indie-rev...

Some of the links may not be currently accepting books for review or may not even be a live blog anymore. I'd recommend sorting by the most recent date added. Just remember to read each individual's review policy because they always vary. Good luck to you guys!

Ruthie (rmadison67) | 2 comments I just have a question. I Have a couple of writing friends who have posted links or mentioned me when they repost something and I want your opinion. Have you heard of writing prompts? It is based in South Africa. Also what do you think of open.edu which has a free online writing course. If so, what is your opinion. Thanks.

V. Pain (Vpain) | 9 comments Hear Me Roar by V. Pain I had more than one reason for compiling these poems, not only to publish a book, which has been a goal for a few years. But also to sound an alarm about self-worth for young women everywhere. Media makes sex look so glamorous; some young women may not know what they are giving up. In the name of rebellion, I did so many stupid things as a young adult. Contemplating them, sent me to my poetry, to categorize it and re-tell my stories with more of life's lessons pointed out. From there, I Wish I Was a Virgin was born, after a couple of years of adding poetry and editing the work, it evolved into Hear Me Roar. I felt like a statue coming alive for the first time. All those years of thrill seeking and misguided decision-making, had done a number on my goals, self-esteem and sanity. I found myself lashing out, like a wildcat at people and situations I had yawned at before. I was able to protect myself...ready to ROAR! Each poem is unique in style, and I encourage you to read any of the free samples online, and share links with friends, and/or family, or just in the name of GIRLPOWER!
