I'm in! I'll probably be on vacation some time in August but as we're starting now in mid-July, I'll have time to catch up.
Question...does the pattern have to be EXACT? Or can its mirror image also be a winner?

DG, that's a great question. We hadn't considered it, but I'll chat with the girlies and let everyone know what's decided.
I'm thinking that if a team gets a square that it's not in the pattern, then people can skip it without any issue because you never know that it will never come up. It won't be like the usual Bingo where something that's called earlier may call in play later as more shelves are called.
Okay I am in for the challenge. This always helps me get back into reading. Hope it helps again!

I could then skip reading that book, right?

Ah I see now. So at least 9 books will need to be read to win the game. If I'm looking at that right.
Nope you never had to complete all shelves called. However, if you had missed 3 shelves not including Free Space, you could be kicked out of the team/game, as it wasn't fair to your team-mates.That rule will still apply, plus the game is to promote reading, and we all want to find great new books.
As those who played the last round know, I did the stats on the books chosen by everyone, and I'll be doing the same this time around. Great idea Daffodil!

✣ Shelf announcements will be made on/around 1pm each Wednesday (PST Time) ✣
✚ NEW WINNING PATTERNS NEEDED FOR R12 ✚ (Modified 12 July)
These patterns have 4 more spaces necessary for a win, which will likely increase the length of the game. Please keep this in mind before signing up.
REMINDERS:
➸ Each player must check-in a minimum of once a week following the shelf announcement. Let your teammates know which book you will be reading. We are understanding of RL issues that may arise throughout the game keeping you from posting, however, this is a TEAM challenge. Your teammates depend on you to participate and communicate with them. Your teammates and I thank you in advance!
➸ There is no way to know in advance how long the game will last. Past rounds have lasted 2.5-4.5 months. The shelves are chosen using random.org, so there is always a chance the game could go on for a shorter or longer time period.
If you wish to play, sign up below. Sign-up sheet will close on Sunday, 12 July so that players may be shuffled to create teams prior to first shelf announcement.
