Ok so someone help me please because I can't remember what book this is. So the heroine lives with her roommate and she after calling her cop ex boyfriend someone comes to check and finds camera and microphones hidden in their apartment i forget how she meets the hero but he was the one to put the cameras in her place and at another point they are at the park together and get shot at and they go back to his place so she can be safe and her family of friend call her and ask her to come home but she stays with him. I think I remember that she does't know who her father is or maybe she was adopted but she is his firstborn and has some necklace that means she is to inherit family money or something and that maybe her brother she doesn't know is trying to kill her.

Was the book historical (any period pre-1980's say) or modern? We know that it has to be 20th century or later, but when exactly? Was it hard-boiled or a romantic suspense? Anything about where it was set--small town, medium city, big city, country? What about the country--U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France?

It was an ebook romance and it was modern set in the US I don't remember what city. The hero put the cameras in her apartment because he wanted to know about her. She found the cameras before she met the hero.

What else do you remember about the heroine - her job, family, background, personality, etc.?

Why does she call her ex-boyfriend who is a cop?

The hero with the Irish accent is a different guy? Who sent him to protect her?

Do you learn about her inheritance early or late in the story?
