Holly Curtis | 5 comments Hello!
I wonder if anybody can help?
Basically, I have my ebook for sale on Amazon, and while the sample chapters look fine on Amazon UK (and DE, for that matter) on the US site the formatting is all wrong. There are no tabs or indents to indicate a change of paragraph, so the whole thing looks a mess!
The Amazon preview looks fine too, and I've even downloaded it onto my own Kindle, and the whole book looks fine, I'm just concerned that in America it hasn't come out right (for some reason)
It doesn't make sense, I know, but there it is!
Any help would be much appreciated, as it is putting me off promoting the book :)

Martin Wilsey | 447 comments The preview is hosed for me as well. (I am in the USA)

I purchased a copy and the internal formatting is just fine.

This looks like an Amazon problem. Contact their author tech support.

Martin

Micah Sisk (micahrsisk) | 1042 comments I agree with Martin. I'm in the US and the formatting is definitely messed up.

Also...you probably should set up your author's page in both Amazon and Goodreads. People like to know a little something about an author before they buy their books!

Lawrence Ambrose (ambrose2014) | 8 comments Hmmm...I just looked at it, and the formatting didn't seem fine to me - no paragraph indents. Is that intentional, Holly?

Lawrence Ambrose (ambrose2014) | 8 comments I just looked at your UK version, which seems fine. If I had to guess, I'd bet that you uploaded a different version of your manuscript. It would seem very strange, almost unthinkable, that Amazon's formatting program would be different for the US and the UK. Or maybe there's a technical problem that's temporary? Weird.

Holly Curtis | 5 comments Thanks for the comments, everyone. At least I now know I'm imagining it!

I've contacted tech support and hoping hear back soon

I agree with Lawrence that it would be strange that the formatting program would be different for US and UK

I'll keep you posted

Thank you!

Holly Curtis | 5 comments All sorted now! I got in contact with Amazon tech folk and by yesterday it was okay. They didn't explain to me what was wrong and what they did to fix it, and to be honest I don't really care!

Thank you for your time and comments, much appreciated!

Lawrence Ambrose (ambrose2014) | 8 comments Yes, the folks at Amazon like to play their cards extremely close to their vests. ;/ But they usually do get it done.
