Anaphora is actively seeking new cooperative authors to join its list of over 130 released non-fiction, poetry and fiction titles. Authors buy 40 copies at 25% off for resale at a profit, and this covers all publication expenses. This model is less competitive than traditional publishing, and cheaper than subsidy publishing. If you would like to find out more about how it works watch this 6-minute video with audio: https://youtu.be/-R5-xXExD9E. Also visit Anaphora's website, http://anaphoraliterary.com.

It depends on the author's ability to help market/ sell their book. If they can resell their 40 copies, they benefit with a 25% profit. If they can help market themselves in a way that more books sell through distribution channels, they make 50% of all those profits (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Ingram etc.). I have the 40 copies policy so that I profit from each book even if the author does not help with marketing at all and the book doesn't sell. It's better for both of us if it does, so I help design press releases etc. I've been in business for 7 years, and the only people complaining about my services are those who don't work with me. You can contact any of the 130+ authors I've published for their reference, and I'm sure they were happy with what I offered. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have in this forum. Ingram prints in the AU, so I'd be delighted to find more cooperative authors there.

However I wish you, and your authors all the best.
If you can design, format, edit, publish, market etc. your book yourself, you definitely should go with CreateSpace, but your profits might not be that much greater, as Lightning Source leaves authors/ publishers with a larger share of the profits by cutting out the middle-man - as CreateSpace also frequently prints with them, and takes a share for itself. Also, CreateSpace offers less than 40% to distributors which keeps them away - another reasons more books sell via Ingram/ Lightning Source/ my printer - but LS charges setup fees and this is the initial reason I started asking for the 40 copies purchase. A writer should measure the options and choose the one that fits their needs and funds.
