I'm not really sure how I feel right now.
I don't like it, but I don't hate it. It's in between. I hope it gets better for me, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I just started it, read a few chapters and I have to say: the writing style is REALLY bugging me. All those short sentences seem pretentious (and not the character being so) and dull. I hope it gets better soon.
This is just going to be a rant, ok? Ok, then. Part 1 has been hell to read, I hated the writing and the characters. Gat is a pathetic and rude cheater. Cadence can't seem to have the courage to stand up for herself and put her apart from her family. Every mention of the Sinclairs is pure pretension, as is that narration.
People say it gets better when the mystery kicks in, I'm counting on that. This is the only book by e. Lockhart I really dislike, and only two other books this year I hated this much (didn't finish them): Marked and Red Rising. They might just not be for me.
