Police/mystery series set in Ballearics

Can't remember which island.
The policeman is a bit self-effacing (much like Inspector Ghote.)
The murders are all set amongst the English expat community. (Hence the policeman's doubts - he doesn't understand them.)
Can't remember much more, but how many are there set in the Ballearics? :-)
