Lehrer helps the reader understand the value of instincts, but he doesn't stop there. He also helps show when, how and why instincts and emotions lead us astray, even in seemingly dispassionate scenarios. By extension, How We Decide is a guide to mitigating our personal shortcomings before we let them affect our decisions.
I really like books about how our brains work, and this has been a pleasant addition to those I've read to date

Well put Andrew! This is what I thought as well.

very good at making you think about how you think and will more than likely play a roll in future decisions i make.
i do however wish the book dealt more in the philosophical side of decision making such as, given what the author knows now, are we free or determined?
