Not the children's book. Written by a Catholic priest. I remember the title as being "The Cat who Went to Heaven", but it seems I am wrong. The book opens with consternation at the pearly gates because they see a "maximum saint" (a soul with all 7 virtues) on it's way up. The chapters alternate between being located in heave, hell and earth (the cat's story.) The reason the cat is on its way to heaven is because it died saving its owner's (the bishop) life.
