Below you can comment about chapters 1-5 in The Darkest Minds. How do you like the writing so far? The characters? Whose your favorite?

WARNING- there will be spoilers for chapters 1-5, so if you haven't read all 5 of these chapters I wouldn't suggest reading through these comments.

Guess I'll be the first to say something about the book.
I can't believe what Dr. Begbie did!! Why did she tie up Dr. Rogers? Also, I love Ruby! I feel bad that her and Sam aren't friends anymore. But I'm totally on Rubys side because she can't help that she was so scared of the PSF that she didn't defend Sam. Sam should've understood. Sam didn't even have to say anything. She could've kept quiet about the whole shoe thing. Then Sam acted like they were still friends when Ruby came back from the infirmary then went on talking to Vanessa. And Vanessa started to try and bash Ruby for being gone! She couldn't help that the noise messed with her! Anyways, amazing book so far!!

Omg yes I agree! At the beginning I was really confused about what was going on but then I caught up with everything. I really can't believe how Sam reacted, I thought she would have reacted better about it. And I can't believe her and Vanessa are friends, ugh. I love this book so far, and Ruby is definitely my favorite! She seems like such a great character!

At the beginning of the book, Ruby actually annoyed me a little bit. Actually, it was probably more Alexandra Bracken than anything. The prologue, instead of pulling me in, just made me super confused. To be completely honest, I put the book down and left it for a while. That was stupid because the prologue is literally only a page and a half long. I totally could've kept reading.

But once I got into it, the first five chapters were amazing!
I feel like since the "dystopian/apocalypse" genre has been used so much, there aren't that many ideas left, so most books in the genre are super predictable, but that definitely didn't happen with this book.

I loved the different classifications. . . but it's still super confusing because I don't know what they mean.
I also don't really trust Dr. Begbie. I mean, it's great that there is someone on Ruby's side right away at the beginning. . . but it's the beginning, so who knows what will happen.

Omg!!! So I FINALLY finished chapters 1-5 :') *25 days later*
Anyways, I really enjoyed these first few chapters! I'm loving the story, and it wasn't what I expected.
I have a question though... What powers do Greens have? I know that they're good at math or whatever but what is their actual power? :')
