Vanessa [though she prefers to be called by her middle name, 'Scarlett'] is a model. And unlike most models [referring to Celeste here], she is not stuck up at all. Nor is she arrogant, mean and stubborn. In fact, she despises people who are like that. Instead, she loves helping out. I mean, if she wasn't a two, then she would be the most perfect teacher as a four! Though most of the time, she would sneak out of her house to teach some poor eights, sevens and sixes but she would always get caught which leads to her parents almost hating her for being this type of person.
She is kind, lovely, ecstatic and always around to help others. One true lesson she learnt in her life is 'what goes around comes around'. This famous saying had taught her to respect people with the respect they deserve, and that respect will come back to you sooner or later.
Furthermore, Scarlett is extremely beautiful which is quite shocking since none of her parents share similar features. For example her delicate honey coloured eyes...her parents both have dull grey/blue eyes. Well, this is what people call in her family, 'A gift from God'. None of her siblings are as well natured as she is.
But the one negative thing about her is lying. She could lie to you about anything. Even the most serious of things. This is considered both good and bad. Good because you could trust her with even the most darkest of secrets. Bad because...who likes a person who lies? And because of that, she is less of a perfect-diva, more of a liar...
Furthermore, her other weakness is winning a fight. Especially a cuss/verbal one. Also, another weakness is her vulnerability ...she's very gullible

Vanessa grew up in the province of Clermont, Illea. Throughout her childhood, she was always told that as a two, she was considered more of a human than an eight would. But she was a very questioning girl. She would never be told something and be expected to believe it. She did her own bit of research. Tried to see what the life as an eight would be like. Sometimes, she would starve herself to see if she would survive. No. She would usually pass out or stop resisting the urge to eat and swallow a jug full of water. It was horrible. Ever since, she would sneak out at night and give out food to some of her friends who were sevens and eight. There was one friend of hers in particular. Clara. She was an eight and so far, she was the most best friend Vanessa had ever befriended. But her parents would never approve. Day and night, her parents would lecture her about the danger of people like Clara. But Vanessa would always ignore them. Sometimes, she would even threaten her family. Telling them that if they don't stop lecturing her, she would leave the house and go live with her. But it never works. That's one of the reasons why she had entered the Selection. To get away from her family. That, and of course the swoon-worthiness of Prince William...
