Adding 3,000 to my 7,750, I'm now 10,750 miles!

Glad to see another "Sightseer" on the list! (I was getting lonely. Haha). :)
Finished my 6th
. It is set in a different country (Germany) so it adds 2,500 miles bringing my total up to 13,500 miles. Updated post #8.
I'm assuming re-reads count! I just finished Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire because my 8 year old is reading it and I wanted to read it "with" her, so I figured I may as well count it. Another 2500 miles for taking place in England, puts me at 10500 miles. Updated post #14
Good work, everyone! I'm glad to see so many recent "Sightseer" folk added to the list! You're all updated (though mention something if I've messed anything up).
And be patient for the next few days as I may be offline a bit more. I'm taking my mom on a trip to Nova Scotia for funsies :)
Well I have reached Sight seer status with 2,500 miles added for
that takes place in Canada. that brings the grand total up to 12,750. I think this is as far as I go in this challenge as I have a couple other commitments. If I get that unexpected miracle reading time (we can only hope) I will update and try for jet setter.
I've finished a few more books: The Beautiful and the Cursed (set in France), The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an IKEA Wardrobe: A novel (an Adult book translated from French) and Vamos a calentar el sol (translated from Portuguese and read in Spanish)... leaving me at a total of 20,500 miles :)Updated post #10
Updated post #21Another one: finished
, but the story doesn't take place on Scotland, lucky me is located in US so it is still another country. So now I'm 15,750 miles.
A few more finished and edited post #105

I hope you had a good trip with you mom. Glad you are back.
Catching myself up with this challenge, I just finished re-reading (or listening to, this time) Anne of Green Gables myself! So, taking place in the country of Canada.Similarly, prior to that I read The Girl in the Road - which is an adult book that takes place in future India and Ethiopia (though I'll pick India, as that's where it starts).
Another 5,000 points for this gal! :)
Oh man. It occurs to me that if I manage to capture 6,000 more points in a week, I'll be a globetrotter! Must track down some translated books! :P
Finished
for 2250 miles for the city name in the title. Brings me to total of 12750, sightseer status!Updated post #14.
I manage to finish one more
, which I totally love by the way. With this city with a fictional name, I add 1,750 miles, giving me a total of 17,500!!
Updated post #21
Finally finished enough books to achieve Jetsetter status!
- country (India)
- country (France)for an additional 5,000 miles
Total 18,750
Updated post #105
I've finally finished this challenge! I added three more to my completed list:
(map in the cover),
(set in India) and
(set in Australia). And that brings me to a total of 27,000 miles!!! :)
Updated post #10
Updated post #21I'm going to add this one to my list:
(adult) it has a famous landmark, so I'm adding 1,500 miles in total I've 19,000!!!! YAY!
This one time I accidentally forgot that I read a book that would count for this. So here's my last update. Clockwork Princess (England), Sekret (Russia), Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Italy) - 2.500 x 3
For a total of 21,750 miles (Jetsetter level)
Updated post #7
Yes! Congratulations, Gabriela!!! You're the amazing lone Globetrotter!!!(I was so close to being a Globetrotter, too - half way through my final translated book but then my night got away from me. *Sigh*)
Everyone should be updated up to this point! (But obviously, those of you who have final books to report, feel free to continue to do so). As of right now, we've got 2 folks who "traveled" around the world (one was Gabriela, accumulating 2,500 miles, and the other was Kdbrand who read a book for each continent); 4 people who made it 3/4's of the way around the globe; another 4 folks that made it halfway around the globe (one of which was R.A. reading 3 books from 3 continents); and another 4 "weekenders" that made it a quarter of the way with 6,250 miles under their belts.
Well done to everyone!!!
And well done to anyone who took on this challenge! My hope is that even if you only read a book or two, you may have encountered another culture or world worth learning about. :)
