Challenge 3 of 2015: Around the World in 90 days!
Everyone is updated! I also finished my first one this weekend (and my first Sarah Dessen ever!).
(Mode of tranport on the cover)
Finished two more books:
for a mode of transport and
which is set in England. So I'm at 6500 miles so far. Updated post #10
Gotcha, Gabriela! And simultaneously I'll be giving myself some more miles for reading a book set in a different country:
(I guess I'll say this is in Russia? Which is where large parts of the story takes place, even though the characters are Lithuanian and start the story in their own country).
Finished my 3rd
. 1500 miles for mode of transportation. I have a total of 5500 miles. Updated post #8.
Finished Anna and the French Kiss. Took me long enough to get around to reading it! Haha.I'm going to take this as a "different country" book for now - and I like that it's also a "famous landmark" book - so if I want to read another book taking place in France, I could swap things around :)
Finished my 4th
(adult) for 3000 miles. It has been translated from Spanish to English. It also has a famous landmark on the cover but the translation counts for more so that is what I am using it for. It is an adult book, but I will be reading 6 books in total. I updated post #8. My total mileage count is at 8,500 miles.
Great work, friends!I've also finished another one - this time a translated book (originally Danish). This was one very provocative little tale! (And creeeeepy).
Switching to Option 2. One just seemed impossible for me for some reason.Going for Globe trotter level as it's already nearing the end of month 2.
Finished my first book:
for "mode of transportation on cover" for 1500 pts.Updated my post 15

Good job, Fiorela! You've achieved "Weekender" status.
Hey there, fellow travelers! If you're looking for some good books translated into English (as reading translated YA will get you the most "miles" for this challenge) here is a good resource!http://stackedbooks.org/2014/11/get-g...
Just finished #4
EuropeLoved it! It's been a long time since I gave a book a 5 star rating.

Isn't it just delightful? That's one of the main reasons that I wanted to start it as a traveling book! I feel like it's still pretty undiscovered and I want more people to be able to enjoy it :)
This might be just about the best I've ever done on a challenge! Just finished another translation:
Friends - it's a quick read, but I didn't love the story. Started with promise but then turned into a dud.
Finished my 2nd. It was blah
based in Romania for 2,500 pts. Putting me at 4,000 I believe,
Updated post 15
Finished my first book:
They travel around the world in it, but spent a large part of the book in Japan / Russia, so I'm counting it as Asia.
Finished three more books leaving me at 12,000 miles:
(by boat),
(by bike) and
(set in Malaysia and I guess it's considered as an Adult)

The music connection warmed my heart. I love, love, love concerts!
Is The Hunchback of Notre-Dame YA? I remember it being on some HS reading lists for some classes. I'm debating reading it, and knowing it would work for this challenge (translation) might encourage me

You're allowed one non-YA book.(And if you read more than six books for this challenge, then you're allowed another non-YA).
hmm i already have one and doubt I'll read 6. I'm sure you shared it before...but where do you check the age group? It wasn't on the book inside.

I check the age group against the Chicago Public Library shelving system.
