Noooo, not black people fashion, lol. We call it black fashion which basically means you wear mostly black but we also use the word for a special sort of style and I have no idea how you call it in the US but I'm sure you know it.
I've never heard of Aeropostale. We have Forever 21 too but it isn't exactly very popular. I personally like H&M, Zara and Mango a lot, too.
The co-op I go to is a program where teachers with college degrees offer classes in their areas of expertise to homeschooled students. These are especially useful for high level maths and sciences like Physics and Calculus that parents may not feel capable of teaching to their students on their own. Both co-ops that I have attended were Christian programs that held classes in a church, and the one I attend currently only holds classes one day a week. We listen to lectures or do experiments during class, then our homework assignments are posted online for us to complete during the week. Some homeschoolers take all of their classes at a co-op.
Haha okay that makes more sense! I'm pretty sure wearing mostly black in America is just called Goth. That's interesting! I've heard of Mango, although I've never actually shopped there, but I've never heard of Zara.
And lol yeah I've heard that Ruby Red isn't for everyone. I think I've said it before, but I'm really not picky when it comes to reading material. It takes a lot for me to actually dislike a book. I mean, I can only think of a single book that I have ever begun reading that I gave up on because I just really disliked it.
I think I'm going to give up on The Rosie Project. I like the idea of the book, and I like Don and Rosie, but a lot of stuff about the book is making me a little uncomfortable. Nothing is big enough to discontinue my reading by itself, but still. I mean, there's more language in this book than any movie I've ever watched. And Gene is a perv. And Rosie works at a gay bar. So I think I'm done, however much it pains me to quit halfway.
I finished SIDE JOBS early this morning.DUNE: HOUSE ATREIDES: page 212
Sydney: When you get a chance to update the points, I should have 3 points. If I can find it, I might tackle DOROTHY MUST DIE. If I can't, I'll have 4 points when I finish HOUSE ATREIDES...unless I don't finish it this month.
No it's not Goth. I'll maybe show you pictures tomorrow.Really? I loved the Rosie Project! Gene really is weird, though.

Sorry! Just updated :)
Oh okay! Yeah, show me a picture!
Honestly, I think I probably would have finished and given the book four stars if not for Gene, but he was the icing on the cake of my discomfort :|
I think I'll probably read Emerald Green (#3 in the Ruby Red trilogy) next, then start Dorothy Must Die. Or maybe I'll do those at the same time :P

Also, if y'all notice that I have not updated your points after a bit, please do say something! There are enough posts on this thread now that it would be pretty easy to overlook something.
I'm NOT adding CURSOR'S FURY for next month, even though it is the 3rd book of the CODEX ALERA since it's already in progress for me, so if I want to post a book from Jim Butcher, it'll probably be part of his 10+ Dresden Files series. As to DOROTHY MUST DIE, if I can find it, I'll check it out even though I pretty much despise NA/YA as a genre.
Jessica wrote: "Finished The Girl on the Train, ready for The Handmaid's Tale :)"Did you like it?
It arrived at my library, will probably get it tomorrow.
Wow, I just went to my library's website to request The Girl on the Train, and was quite surprised. All 96 copies in the library system are currently in use, and 260 people are on the waiting list! I don't think I've ever seen anything like that on the website before!
I actually enjoyed it more than I thought. I'm usually really good at predicting things, but this time it wasn't so easy! It definitely keeps your interest.

That's great to hear! I'm putting myself on the waiting list, even though I'm unlikely to get it before the end of the month.
I'll probably read The Paper Magician first - arrived today, too. Now that I finished The Last Letter From Your Lover, I could start any second.
Oh yay!! I'll be picking it up from the library in the morning, hopefully. Also, I'm 100 pages into Dorothy Must Die! Not bad so far. But Oz is weird.
LOL. You don't need DOROTHY MUST DIE to know Oz is weird. You just need the Judy Garland movie.Progress Report:

Oh I loved that movie when I was a little! It was my favorite to watch at my grandparents' house :) I haven't watched it in awhile, but I'm pretty sure the book's Oz is just as strange plus evil. :|
Oh well. I'll let you know how I like it! Although, I know my taste in books is a little different from yours.
Is that a bad thing? *giggles* Thanks. I can't even get my OWN library's copy in time to be able to read it for August.
The Girl On The Train: page 112It's ok so far but I can't come to like the characters and it isn't very thrilling, either.
Just finished the Girl On The Train. It got better, I even liked the ending. Won't be reading anything else from this list any time soon, though.
I'm about 40 pages from the end of Dorothy Must Die! Hopefully I'll get to finish it tonight, but I have a lot of homework due in he morning, so it may be tomorrow before I finish :/
I finished Dorothy Must Die, and I enjoyed it! In the first part especially, Oz felt really dark. However, as the magical elements came into play, I began to like it more. I think I'll be reading the next book in the series!
Also, I know Amber already signed up, but if y'all are planning on joining the September Book Pool please comment there when you get the chance, even if you haven't picked out your books yet. I want to get an idea of who all's doing it. :) Thanks!
I only have ACOTAR to read off this list but I don't really feel like reading it. I also ordered some books from the library and felt like I had to read them right away, since I won't have all the time I want and the books at home won't run away. But I'm so done with reading what I "have" to read that I'll know only read what I feel like reading (after I finished 11th hour and maybe The Light Between Oceans). That's what I meant, haha. Will be joining for next month, though.
Ah, okay that makes sense. Yeah, I totally understand that feeling - I was really feeling it beginning of this month. Glad to hear it! (about next month, I mean :P)
Sydney wrote: "I'm currently reading The Paper Magician. Hopefully I'll be able to finish it by tonight!"Good luck! And tell me how it is since I didn't get to read it for August :(
I caved and started reading the cookbooks I suggested for next month's pool on Saturday. And UNBROKEN on Sunday.
Haha nice job :P As long as you refrain from finishing them before tonight, they'll still count toward next month's pool :)
