AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments I finished this one. I wish it had more in it about her being a health inspector, instead the mystery was all about her dad's restaurant. I would also have liked some more background but overall ok.

I don't remember much about her work as a health inspector in either of the two I've read, other than being mentioned as an aside. I'm hoping to get to book #3 in the next week or so.

I read the first one in this series a couple of years ago. She mentions her work as a food inspector but it was more in the context of her choosing that instead of working in the family business. I remember that she and her sister-in-law didn't get along. In fact, I remember the relationships but I don't remember who was murdered and who did it.

I just finished book #3 in this series, Out of the Frying Pan, and I'm sort of sorry to see the series end. It's certainly not the best series I've read, but it's not the worst either, and I think I'd like just one more book to wrap up some of what my mind sees as loose ends.

I've started the book and am really liking it, so I'm sorry to see that there are only three in the series. I'm enjoying hating Poppy's stepmother, and the kitchen workings seem realistic.
