two things1-unlike shiva trilogy, this is a known story
2-amish has tried to include all sort of modern social issues in the book. they do not merge with the story and continuity is affected.
rest all factors are pretty much similar to shiva trilogy. overall not up to the mark.
Amish's 'Scion of Ikshvaku' is both entertaining and bland at the same timehttp://www.thelostdigga.in/2015/07/am...

Yes,Ramayana is a known story and also the most complicated story. The story proceeds without inducing any confusions in readers mind inspite of so many characters appearing. Author's effort in narration style should be appreciated.
And yes I agree some of the modern social issues illustrated in the book do not completely go with the flow.
It looks like he vented out his anger in his book on the current social issue "nirbiyah's case" especially through his writing. I personally felt so while reading the book.

Depiction of "nirbhaya case" or similar case in book like this, i personally felt was not good. May be I am no one to comment on this, It was his book, he can write anything in his book.. But I was wondering depiction of such case was to make people of that time more human (not Goddy), or showing loop holes in judicial systems which could not be changed in kalyuga also.. or it was just vent of his anger... To let his anger out he could have used his blog or piece of article...
