If you read the Girl On A Train that works.

I just read Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton which is set in the Falkland Islands (off the coast of South America - news to me!) Not only is it an outstanding, creepy mystery but it is a fascinating setting.

I read this book about Raban's travels through Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Yemen, Egypt and Jordan on my own travels through Seattle's heat wave. It felt like we were at least on the same heat wavelength. Fascinating read! I love anything by Jonathan Raban. He's British but lived in Seattle for quite awhile so thought I'd pick up a book by a "local" while there.. Arabia (Picador Books) by Jonathan Raban
