Need some suggestions please..

Hello everyone, I am totally new to the world of classics. I only started reading them this month. I read and loved Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre. But I don't know what to read next. I startedMadame Bovary but I stopped reading that now. I've only finished a few pages. Do you think I should continue with the book or pick up an other one?
Here are some of the other classics I own which I plan on reading soon. Can you help me pick a good one..

You have some awesome books on that list Rahel! If you enjoyed Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice (both are on my all time favourites list) then Emma and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall might be worth considering next. I very much enjoyed them both.

There are lots of fantastic books on your list though so happy choosing :)

Hi Rahel, I tried reading Madam Bovary and had to put it down as well. I was truly bored beyond words. You have a list of great books. I enjoyed Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre very much. Good Luck!!

If you want a light read in between these heavy books I suggestThe Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Rahel- I really enjoyed reading Emma but I must say, especially within the classics genre, a lot depends on the personal preferences of the reader.

If you would like a lighter read in between the other books on your list, I would recommend The Secret Garden, I Capture the Castle or Peter Pan. Sometimes I find it helpful to balance out long books that are heavy in subject matter with some lighter reading.

Ooooh, I Capture the Castle is a lovely book. And yes, a nice light break between some of those heavier duty classics (I love Emma, but it is pretty long).

I also second the recommendation for Rebecca, especially if you enjoyed Jane Eyre.It tackles a lot of similar themes and is obviously influenced by Jane Eyre, but offers something a bit different. And again it's a lighter read than some of the older classics. And (although I haven't yet read it) there's alwaysWide Sargasso Sea, which is an answer to Jane Eyre, telling the story of Bertha's life before the novel starts.

Other classics that haven't already been recommended... To Kill a Mockingbird, Persuasion (if you're not already Austened out), The Woman in White (esp if you liked the more gothic or melodramatic aspects of Jane Eyre).

And on a couple of completely different tacks to P&P and Jane Eyre: The Count of Monte Cristo is fabulous and Animal Farm is one of the most depressing yet brilliant books I've ever read.

I loved I Capture the Castle - did anyone see the film?
