SOLVED. Forgot the title of a book about a girl stalked by a man in a van. [s]

Hello! I hope somebody can help me with this dilemma. A friend lent me a book while we were in elementary school (12 or 13 years ago). For some unknown reason, I gave it back to her without finishing the first chapter (I don't know why, the plot seems mildly fascinating to me now). Now, I can't remember the title or the author, and I vaguely remember the plot and the cover but nothing else...and it's been eating me on the inside ever since, knowing that there's a book out there that I haven't finished, jaja.

Okay, the plot. I remember in the first chapter a girl celebrating her birthday by having dinner with her family at a restaurant. She then notices a man following her on a van...and that's it. I remember the cover being a girl, maybe walking or looking back, and a van (white, I guess?) in the background.

I don't remember the author or the title of the book, and I feel like I have very little information to search for the book.

What I can think of: I believe it isn't a long book, I wouldn't have accepted the book if it was above 100 pages (at that age, I was afraid of big books, jaja). Another detail I remember is that it might have been from Scholastic(if it's not an inappropriate or touchy topic for a "children's" book), since we had Book Fairs from Scholastic very often at our school. Those are assumptions, I don't remember much. I hope somebody could help. I would be so happy and end this three-year search jaja. Thank you all!

Could it be I'm Not Who You Think I Am? The girl is stalked by a woman, who believes her to be her dead daughter. It does start out with the girl in a restaurant with her family, on her birthday, and that is where the woman first sees her and later she does follow her around in a white van.

Yes! That's the one! And you're right! It's been so long, that I only remembered a van and assumed it was a man by default. Thank you so much!
