There's some good looking stuff on your list. I've got some of those on my own list!

Perhaps we should start a book club? Smiley

We could at least compare notes...

I've downloaded several Marissa Mackle books, but haven't read any yet - have you?

Yes I think I have read one - quite a while ago.

Just checked it was July 2011 and I thought it was OK.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Finished The Mile High Guy by Marisa Mackle - didn't enjoy it & skipped through the second half of the book.

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Oh dear!

I guess on the plus side it can only get better!

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Brought list up to date for end of March 2013

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Brought up to date, I don't know how much I'll manage to read by the end of the month due to visitors and capercaillie. I'll probably be cut off from the internet so will update to add any books from May 2012 when I can.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Just how long will you be away twitching Janet?

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Patti (Fluffy) wrote: "Just how long will you be away twitching Janet?"

Without internet as I will not be taking the laptop - I don't think there is wifi where we are going. No doubt books from my wishlist will appear as daily deals or in the sale. But I have plenty to read and my kindles are charged.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I have added books that have been on my kindle since June 2012, & I think that I have brought the books read up to date.

message 19: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Oh Janet, very organised, you are!

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments For obvious reasons I have not added any more books read in June to this list - because I haven't read any of the old ones from my kindle - none of them appealed to me at this time. I will try and get myself organised into updating the list for books downloaded in July 2012 and may even try to read some of them ;) although there are a couple of new series that I have discovered during my freebie splurges in the last month that I am quite keen on continuing.

message 21: by D.D. Chant (new)

D.D. Chant (DDChant) | 7663 comments Don't you just love a good splurge!!!

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I'll have to get back to this challenge as I've read plenty of books in July but none of them have been on my kindle for twelve months or longer.

message 23: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments As long as you are reading! I'm currently trying to dive into older ones this month. It's been mostly a success so far.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments I need to tackle the ones I've had over 12 months, there are hundreds of them though. Think I might be brutal, as I did get a bit click happy

message 25: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments i have nearly deleted every single free book i own Desley. The only ones I kept were ones I would of bought others, more specifically from authors here on the group.

oh and i do like my free poetry/classics

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments hi janet - how are you doing getting rid of old books? im trying to make that a focus of my challenge this year and hopefully next year will be the year i finally catch up.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments Elle wrote: "hi janet - how are you doing getting rid of old books? im trying to make that a focus of my challenge this year and hopefully next year will be the year i finally catch up."

I'm not doing all that well - as each month starts I am adding another batch of books that have been on my kindle for 12 months. Fortunately these later batches are smaller than the ones I put on at the beginning of the challenge.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Elle wrote: "i have nearly deleted every single free book i own Desley. The only ones I kept were ones I would of bought others, more specifically from authors here on the group.

I've read some really good free books, so I'll give them all a go.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I was hoping to add one more book to "read in October" but it will have to be the first one for November.
I've added books downloaded in November and December last year to the list now. Then I will just sweep through the list at the end of the year and carry forward only those ones that there is a good chance of me reading............there are some good books left on that list but I have just not been in the right frame of mind to read them this year.

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I've started the sweep through for next year's

~~~~Clearing the Unread Books Challenge~~~
In which I intend to read two books from this list for every new book that I buy. So I have deleted some that I have started and abandoned.
message 31: by Elle (new)
Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments i've made a list of challenges i'd like to do next year based on how well i did this year on some of them
Jay-me (Janet)  | 3784 comments Four days left to make a final attack on this list before a pruned and revised list is carried forward to next year.
Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Good luck! I still have books from 2011 that I haven't read
Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Im going to try clear all my 2011 books this year!
Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12592 comments Elle wrote: "Im going to try clear all my 2011 books this year!"
That was my aim. I only got my kindle in Nov 11, when I went through manage my kindle, I had got 40 books to read before I had even finished Nov :(
message 38: by Elle (new)
Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments oh man! i got mine in late december 2010 so i had a few classics from then to finish too... never gonna happen ;) maybe in ten years...
I am ignoring classics bought in the beginning, except one. I have read a couple that I got in the beginning, but things like Sherlock Holmes.
