Indie Scene Magazine - Submissions Needed
Oh dear. If this leads to future issues then there will be a letters section, where people can write in and tell us all about our mistakes. What about a reader's Q&A section like New Scientist has. Readers could send in their literary questions and other readers could send in replies. I could publish multiple reader responses that might contradict each other by choosing controversial topics like the Oxford comma.

I found the page, tried to post (logging in with my 'Wordpress' ID, only to have it repeatedly refuse to take my stuff with the message "URL contains illegal characters"
This it does even if there are no url's in the comment box ;-(
I'm using Google Chrome
Strange. I use Google Chrome too...Well, Jim - can you send me the following info by PM:

Birthdate
Bank name and account number including sort code
Oh right. I've left Nigeria.
Ignore the above. ;)
You have mailPatti has a letter from my bank manager soliciting charitable contributions to my account
Yes and I'm very impressed that your bank manager is an exiled member of the Nigerian royal family with an uncle in Libya who was very close friends with an ex-pat who died in a bombing in Syria and has 10 billion dollars in a secret account and I can have it all if I just send 2000 pounds dollars sterling yen to random post office box in Lagos.I'm in the money!
Ha ha.Speaking of humour, I've just seen the voting on the Facebook poll. Is that you VOLUNTEERING to do a topical humour column Patti and Shaun?

probably
Rosen wrote: "Patti, what sort of cartoons were you thinking?"I suppose the life of a reader, life of a writer sort of thing.
I'm no more a cartoonist than I am a writer. :)
Perhaps it could be collaborative? We've got several good humorists (well they make me laugh, anyway).
The writers could write the funny bits and the artsy ones could do the illustrations?
The poll suggests that readers want reviews. So, I'm looking for people who write informative reviews to choose three or four of their favourite books, and let me use their reviews, please.
I can link to their Amazon page...
Thanks, I'm looking for either reviewers with many reviews or reviews of new releases. But if I can't find what I'm looking for then I may put together some pages of unrelated reviews.
Yes, but only 5-star ones on her blog. Does Rosen want any reviews in the mag or only ones that get 4-5 stars?
Ignite is an excellent reviewer but I've already got an article from her and I'm using one of her reviews in the New Releases section.Joo is also great but again, I already have an article from her.
Here are some questions for the sections 'Readers' Questions and Answers'. If you'd like to answer any of them, please send me your responses.http://www.indie-book-bargains.co.uk/...
Thanks Rosen. I wouldn't say I'm great, just persistent :)I sent you my bit. And I've just done my "extra" bit.
Rosen, did you receive my quiz questions? I've just been to visit the Facebook page and everyone is clamouring for quizzes in the magazine. ;)
Okay, summary of what's still needed (not including articles I've been discussing with people individually).1. Please let me know your favourite quotes from indie books
2. Please submit 1,200 word short stories (in exchange for adverts)
3. Please offer replies to these letters (particularly 1 and 3) http://www.indie-book-bargains.co.uk/...
4. Does anybody have a good idea for a witty topical slogan that could go with a cartoon?
5. I need a 150-200 word review of ‘The Heist’ by Shaun Jeffrey.
How about an article on what the book clubs (KUF and UKAKF) are reading in March?
Does anyone want to write a short piece on why authors should not embrace piracy, so that we can include Michael’s ‘why they should’ piece in a discussion page?
Rosen wrote: "Does anyone want to write a short piece on why authors should not embrace piracy, so that we can include Michael’s ‘why they should’ piece in a discussion page? ..."Pity, I could have done why they should, it's a healthy outdoor life, it's in keeping with our proud naval heritage and thanks to the decline in our merchant navy, pretty well all the money comes from foreigners.
Oh yes and it's very tax efficient
Michael wrote: "I don't think you should be too concerned about being balanced. It works great for the Daily Mail."
I need to be balanced on the issue of piracy because, although there is a case to be made for embracing it, I don't want people thinking that the magazine is pro-theft.
Good point about the Daily Mail though. Obviously, it's what I aspire to. ;-)

Sorry, pet peeve ;)
