Sabriel
question
Books like Sabriel
have you read all of the Abhorsen books? he's released a new one "To Hold The Bridge" its a short story collection and the eponymous short story is set in the Old Kingdom.
I'd suggest Jonathan Stroud's works esp. Bartimaeus
and Lockwood & Co.
i'm not sure if the writing style is similar but he's also brilliant like Nix and there's alsoSeraphina
by Rachel Hartman. Its not at the level of Sabriel but its quite okay and if you like dragon ladies (in a literal sense) then maybe you'll like it. Skulduggery Pleasant Series
by Derek Landy, there are necromancers, magic, malevolent beings etc. in there somewhere though its more urban, Mistborn Series
by Brandon Sanderson. His take on magic is quite refreshing and unique and the story's got substance although its a little slow going at first. Oh and Sorrow's Knot
by Erin Bow i didn't enjoy it that much but it reminded me a lot of Sabriel.
I'd suggest Jonathan Stroud's works esp. Bartimaeus
