Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Hope you decided to join us, Keri. Wow! To be honest, I didn't know there were any other books! I thought this was a stand alone. Good to know. I fixed the thread to include it.

Bookish Voodoo (bookish_voodoo) | 64 comments yea its The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1) by Tarryn Fisher Dirty Red (Love Me with Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher Thief (Love Me with Lies, #3) by Tarryn Fisher ive been holding off on these for awhile. i think ive heard so many positive reviews im worried that im not going to feel the same :)

Clementine | 901 comments I knew there were three books but I thought they could all be read as stand alone? :P

Bookish Voodoo (bookish_voodoo) | 64 comments Not sure. I know it's a love triangle... I thought they all went together. I guess we will find out when we finish the Opportunist :)

Clementine | 901 comments Yeah, I guess so. :P Venturing on the summaries/pages of sequels is like begging for spoilers. lol But maybe I'm mixing it up with another NA trilogy. Oh, well, we shall see. ;)

Allison Brunskill | 1891 comments I'm going to join, I've been meaning to read this

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments That's great, Allison! :)

Trisha | 30284 comments I'll start in the morning!!

Allison Brunskill | 1891 comments Finished, I loved it. I can see how this isn't for everyone. Personally I love a messy, flawed main character but I can see how Olivia could turn some people off.

Caleb (view spoiler)

Olivia (view spoiler)

Paula | 7 comments I am currently on chapter seventeen and I really like how Olivia's evolution.

Paula | 7 comments Clementine wrote: "Chapter 2: I'm sorry if I sound like a whiner or a buzz killer, but what [spoilers removed]"

I agree with your observation on the point. I was rolling my eyes with this amnesia business.

message 24: by Clementine (last edited Aug 16, 2015 11:50AM) (new) - rated it 1 star

Clementine | 901 comments @Allison: I normally loveeee flawed or unreliable characters, but Olivia is (view spoiler) So, you're right when you say this isn't for everyone. I'll give it until 25% for it to suck me in, but so far Olivia only makes me want to scream.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Spoilers!!

Clementine | 901 comments Vicki wrote: "Spoilers!!"

APOLOGIES!! :O I edited my post. I'm really sorry about that, Vicki. :S

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments No worries! But I read a little and stopped. Lol

message 28: by Paula (last edited Aug 16, 2015 06:53PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Paula | 7 comments Sorry Vicki…I did't give too much away about the above though. I finished it today and I have to say it improved dramatically in the last few chapters. I liked the story to begin with but the last few chapters were fantastic and for Olivia life changing.

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments No worries!!!

message 30: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new)

Trisha | 30284 comments Yikes, I'm getting behind

anyone okay with rescheduling this one?? to later this month?

Allison Brunskill | 1891 comments @Paula, did you love it at the end? (view spoiler)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Trisha wrote: "Yikes, I'm getting behind

Yes, Trisha, because I didn't get to it yet either.

Heather | 158 comments Allison wrote: "@Paula, did you love it at the end? [spoilers removed]"

I DID! I loved it and cried during it.

Heather | 158 comments So, i just saw this buddy read going on and had to join. I just read all three books last month and LOVED each one of them. Even though its the same story they're completely different. I am excited to hear what everyone else thinks...

I hope its ok if I join in the conversation. Don't think I'll be rereading it already though. Enjoy it!!

Paula | 7 comments Allison wrote: "@Paula, did you love it at the end? [spoilers removed]"

I absolutely loved the ending because I think what happened is the right conclusion at this time. It was a dramatic conclusion and a pivotal one.

Paula | 7 comments Heather wrote: "So, i just saw this buddy read going on and had to join. I just read all three books last month and LOVED each one of them. Even though its the same story they're completely different. I am excited..."

Which of the three books was your favorite?

That's such a hard question because I loved them all...including Dirty Red! Lol If I really had to choose... Thief (Love Me with Lies, #3) by Tarryn Fisher

Which was your favorite?

Paula | 7 comments I just finished the opportunist The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1) by Tarryn Fisher and am about to start Dirty Red Dirty Red (Love Me with Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher . I was just wondering because I do not like Leah so I was thinking whether I can skip her story but most people seem to agree that her story is essential to the entire story.

Heather | 158 comments You definitely can't skip Leah's story. I thought the same thing as you. I didn't want to read it if it wasn't about Caleb and Olivia...but it's not without them. I gave her book five stars also, if that tells you anything. Lol

(Don't worry I'm not giving out spoilers!) ;)

we LOVE that you've joined!! Welcome Heather!! I haven't read it yet...but I'm slowing getting through my pile to get there! :D

Thanks for the response Heather.

Clementine | 901 comments @Heather: Have you read Marrow by Tarryn Fisher by the same author? :)

@Vicki + Trisha: I don't mind rescheduling, guys... I'm stuck on the 13% mark. I think I'm just not in the right mood to enjoy it. I would hate to give it a rating that has everything to do with my state of mind and nothing to do with the book itself.

message 43: by Bookish Voodoo (last edited Aug 18, 2015 09:03AM) (new) - added it

Bookish Voodoo (bookish_voodoo) | 64 comments Marrow by Tarryn Fisher is really really good. The other book that ties in with Marrow is Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher . Mudvein came out first. They can both be read as standalones but Marrow answers some questions from Mudvein.

Heather | 158 comments Yes! I did read Marrow by Tarryn Fisher . It was very good. Its kinda weird but one you NEED to finish. I also read Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher which i had been dying to read but ended up hating it. From the reviews, people rated great and terrible. You know most books are rated fairly the same? Well, Mud Vein the ratings were all over the place! Lol Have you read anything else by her?

message 45: by Heather (last edited Aug 18, 2015 09:07AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Heather | 158 comments Keri wrote: "Marrow by Tarryn Fisheris really really good. The other book that ties in with Marrow is Mud Vein by Tarryn Fisher. Mudvein came out first. They can both be read as standalones but Marro..."

That was my favorite part of Marrow! For that reason, I'm glad I read Mud Vein.

Clementine | 901 comments @Heather: I read Never Never by her and Colleen Hoover, but I wasn't a fan of it. Way too much withholding information (but I'm in the minority :P). I was asking because I own Marrow and I can't wait to get to it! I love weird books! ^_^ I'm not so sure about giving Mud Vein a shot now, though. You were right: the ratings are all over the place. :O

Bookish Voodoo (bookish_voodoo) | 64 comments @Clementine i have bought Never Never 1 & 2 but refuse to read them until the 3rd one comes out. I am terrible about cliffhangers and try not to read a series until all books are out.

I think you have to be in a certain frame of mind for Tarryn Fisher's books. I liked Mudvein but i loved Marrow. i'm really looking forward to the new book she's writing F*** Love. Should be interesting :)

The cliffhangers drove me insane! :O Especially that they haven't set a release date for the third part yet. >.<'

I do agree about being in the right mood to read her books. That's why I think it's best I put The Opportunist on hold for now. :P

Heather | 158 comments I also agree....you need to be in the mood for Tarryn Fisher's books! That COULD have been why I didn't care for Mud Vein. But I am one of those Never Never lovers!

message 50: by Vicki (last edited Aug 18, 2015 01:28PM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments I see that Heather loved this book...awesome!

Clementine, I'm okay with rescheduling it if Trisha is. I don't "have" to read it for anything in particular and I own it.
