What was the purpose of the maze?

I read this book, but somehow i missed that part, maybe it gets more revealed in the later books but so far i didn't get it. The kids were in the glade so that the people watching them could figure out how they were immune to the disease, right? But how does solving a maze help them figure that out? I get that the maze was mainly to see if they could survive what was waiting for them once they escaped it but was there any point to the maze as to figuring out why the kids are immune? Ive only read the first book, so please don't spoil the next ones for me if its more explained in them, if so just tell me that they explain it later.

i feel like even if you read it, the explanation isn't ever uber obvious, but i think that you get the gist of it as the series continues. remember that they are put there by folks that want to see them struggle, and want to see if they succeed and/or who will succeed. that's all part of it.

The books don't explain it very well, to be quite honest. You're right about the maze being about testing those they put into it, but there's a bit more depth behind their reasoning. Keep in mind the people that threw the teenagers into that situation must have had a intention that they thought would benefit the greater good, even if it was carried out differently. Keep reading, and it will make more sense than it does now.

I thought it was explained quite clearly. Do finish the three books, as the whole point is they don't know anything. That's part of the test.

The next two books explain it.

To test them

I felt the same way you did. I kept waiting for this gigantic reveal that I had waited the whole series for, but we just kind of got this half-explanation that really didn't cover what was going on. I was majorly disappointed.

Well, if they showed up in the Glade and could easily get out, then the purpose of having the Glade is completely useless. They had to contain them so that they wouldn't get out too easily. Why didn't they just make the maze disapear, I don't know, why did so many guys have to die to get out, I also don't know and why were the girls seperated from the guys, I also don't know.

Keep reading. It's sort of explained. Not very well, and not without massive loopholes, but it is explained.

I think you should finish the series before asking questions like this.

Rohitt Vashishtha That's kinda like, they should waste their time for two more books and find out that the answer is very vague. The third book is where it all gets bet ...more
