I'm searching for a book. I read it at least 10 years ago- actually I think it's a trilogy and for some reason "requiem" is in my head as part of the title.
I was around 16 when I read it so I think the age would be YA/NA

Basically the earth is in two parts. This girl is a country girl with curly blonde hair in one world and she meets a guy, falls in love and they have sex but he is from the other world. Eventually she travels through the core of the earth and it completely heals all scars and makes her beautiful. In the second world she meets the man again and he thinks it's her but they have sex again and she is a virgin (because the core healed her) so he doesn't think it's her anymore.
I've searched but anything with requiem only brings up requiem for a dream.
Any sci fi/fantasy readers out there have any ideas???

It was Requiem for the Sun by Elizabeth Haydon. At least that's one of the books in the series.
