Lisa Thank you ELJ for listening to your readers and taking the time out of your busy schedule and giving us Grey on Christian's birthday! I am very grateful and I absolutely loved it first because you listened to us and cared enough to grant us his POV. I'm glad it was a mirror image of FSOG, hoping that we get books 2&3 with his thoughts from when he was alone in the apartment with Leila, when he was frantic that Ana was no where to be found after throwing her out of her apartment, the scene when Jack was found in his apartment, the first time he let Ana touch him, the proposal and leading up to it, when Ana was attacked, more into his relationship with Elena, his conversation with Carrick about Elena, when Ana was left unconcious, the birth of their first born, etc. I know many are leaving negative comments and I'm sorry for that but you gave us a great gift that you didn't have to, especially with the movie going on but you've always remained humble and thought of your readers and that in itself deserves 5*s on Amazon. Not many authors give you a play by play male lead POV, they usually give you a novella mixed with short scenes from each book and sadly readers complain about that as well but I'm grateful for it all! I for one wanted to see Christian's vulnerability, fear, actions behind his ways. As far as readers saying it was repetitive, well yeah, it had to be, FSOG was Ana's POV, now in Grey we get the reasoning behind his thoughts and actions, which is what WE asked for! Honestly, thank you and I'm sure so many will disagree with me but I am very grateful for your gift. I missed Christian and hope we get more!

Jo yes, i agreed with Lisa, we want more! i want to know what Christan's view when he learnt about Ana is pregnant and he walked away in book 3, when Charlie Tango was down, what did he think in book 2, of course, his plan for his proposal on his birthday party.

yes, i want more!

Lesley Book Lover Agree with both of you, I am loving this from Christians point of view, we get to see just how vulnerable he really is. Yes, as some have pointed out, a lot of FSOG is repeated, what did they expect, a different story altogether!!! BUT a lot of it is also Christians thoughts, and also what he was doing. I would buy more books from Christians point of view too if E L J decided to write them, I can't get enough of Christian and Ana.

Lisa I'd buy more too!

Beth MORE MORE MORE< LOVE THIS SO MUCH. It shows such great insight on Christans thought and feelings. LOVE IT, THANK YOU EL JAMES!!

Ashley Wiggin YES, please! I need more!

Lisa I hope the negatives don't shy her away from giving us more! Readers are writing such harsh things.

Sheecid Lopez I need MORE christian POV. I enjoyed reading this book

message 10: by Vini (new) - rated it 5 stars

Vini Seriously i want MORE!!!

Ilana i loved that we got to see the real thoughts behind his actions in Grey and i think that it shows us that while there's a clear line drawn on the D/s piece of his life, there's also such a romantic that wants to come through all because of Ana. ...and while we knew that was the case in the original series, it comes through so much more here.

now i'm also with the rest of the folks here - that i would love to see books 2 and 3 from his POV but i know what a HUGE undertaking that can be - so....i'll be happy with what we have so far but would be THRILLED if we got more.

message 12: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Ilana, I'm grateful for book 1 but am looking forward to 2&3 and believe ELJ will deliver. She's not like other authors that don't complete their work. For me, his POV made the completion of a beautiful love story, much more valuable than the dom/sub side that too many are focusing on how it's not the true lifestyle. Who cares about it, it's the love story that readers should focus on and not dissect it. I loved it.

such a valid point. that's one thing that i noticed too about the main series - that as i read it more than once, i got the love story and the depth of it, instead of the in your face shock value of being one of the first 'mainstream' erotica books that people have gotten into.

message 14: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa I wish others would see past that and see the amazing love story unfold even though he endured such childhood abuse at such a young. Too many are obsessed with BDSM either saying she doesn't know the first thing about it or are appalled by that lifestyle. Me? To each their own, who am I to judge, whatever floats one's boat. I like the simplcity of enjoying the love story and not dissect details.

Cindy I want more as well....bring on book 2 and 3....

There are writing such harsh things and I can't help but wonder what book are they reading. I loved this book!

I definitely agree there is way more to the dom/sub side that everyone seems to focus on and much more than lust. That's my argument when people ask me why I read the series.

Lisa Jei-Nhy, me too. It's drives me crazy.

Couldn't agree more Lisa. Christian was beaten, starved and left alone as a young child, who wouldn't be effected.

message 21: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Agueda, love the shouty capitals!

Lesley, absolutely.

Lisa Exactly Hannah.

Aguedalandia Lisa wrote: "Agueda, love the shouty capitals!

:) Thanks!

Lesley Book Lover Just read an article, saying that E L James has confirmed she will be writing Fifty shades darker from Christians point of view, as sales of Grey have been huge. I do hope so.

Cindy can't wait...

Lesley Book Lover Me too, I hope she does the final book also.

Cindy i think she will...her sales must be through the roof with GREY!

Lesley Book Lover I am in the UK, and the book was no 1 here on orders alone last week, before the book even went on sale, so that is saying something.

message 30: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Lesley, I was told yesterday from another blog here that she would be giving us Darker...yay!

Cindy you know if your not a true 50 shades fan you wont appreciate the book GREY. saying this because of the bad rap
this book is receiving.

message 32: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa So true Cindy. My only beef is if you're not a fan then why do readers have to be so harsh and insulting toward ELJ? It's so hurtful and disrespectful, especially when they do it on her own FB page. If they have nothing nice to say then she say nothing at all and move on and let those of us who do enjoy it in peace.

Cindy exactly leave us fans in PEACE!

message 34: by Mochaspresso (last edited Jun 25, 2015 09:36AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mochaspresso There is an author who dedicated an entire blog to ripping apart Fifty Shades. She did it for the entire series and she appears to be continuing with Grey.

http://jennytrout.com/

I don't knock people for having opinions and putting them out there in whatever manner they choose....but, as an author, wouldn't you want to devote more energy into promoting your own work? If you write books in the same genre and that might possibly appeal to the same type of reader, why would you want to alienate so many potential readers?

I haven't read any of her books and I probably won't in the immediate future. Her blog just left a bad taste in my mouth. I like authors who are positive and supportive of their contemporaries. I notice that John Green, Anne Rice, Nicholas Sparks and Colleen Hoover are always congratulating other authors on their success. I don't like it when authors are catty and trash other authors.

message 35: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Mochaspresso, I'm with you authors should stand behind each other. After what you posted I'll never read a book from that author. Vicious attacks are uncalled for. She obviously has too much time on her hands if she specifically made a blog bashing Fifty. I mean who does that? As it is readers are vicious they don't need encouragement from another author, that's just wrong. I can think of another author that I know you know who I'm talking about from another blog I post on and she has been the ONLY arrogant and rude author I've come across out of many. I was furious when she said she wouldn't see FSOG the movie because romance wasn't her thing, meanwhile she writes romance for a living and I believe she's famous because of ELJ. Many read her series because of FSOG. Authors should remain loyal to one another.

Cindy Clearly these authors have nothing better to do...grow up already. Maybe they are jealous because FSOG is doing so well. WHATEVER!

Basically, it is jealousy, that is what I put it down to, E L has made a name for herself, and millions in the bank too, it is like playground bullying.

Wow, I couldn't even read the whole blog post. I agree with your point that authors should focus more on their work. I get the idea that authors want to connect with their fans and one way to do so is through recommending, or not recommending, books to read, but to be vicious about it? Yeah, I'm not for that. Give your reasons why you don't like something, but not to the point where you're simply lashing out or giving tips on how they shouldn't or should write it, especially when the author you're putting down seems to have bestsellers under her belt and not to mention a movie.

And seriously, I had no idea who Jenny Trout was until that blog post and now I'm never going to read her books based on that attitude. And some of them looked interesting, but there went that idea. On the other hand, I knew of EL James, read her whole series and will read the rest, and I plan to watch a movie based on her books. So ... there you go.

message 40: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa I'm with you 411junkie! So messed up and I never heard of her either, I wouldn't even read it. I'm done with rude authors so many others deserve my money and recommendations.

Melissa I did enjoy reading CG point of view and look forward to reading the other 2 from his perspective.

Jacquelyn Jo wrote: "yes, i agreed with Lisa, we want more! i want to know what Christan's view when he learnt about Ana is pregnant and he walked away in book 3, when Charlie Tango was down, what did he think in book ..."

All of these but especially when Charlie Tango was sabotaged, when he was alone with Leila, and when Ana safeworded because I feel like those times are some where we can't get a good read on what he was thinking.

Denise Harmse Also want more please

message 44: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Definitely Jacquelyn.

Beverly Quigley I loved this book. Cant wait to read more!!! I want to know what he is thinking when he goes to Jose's show and see the pictures of Ana. i also want know about When he takes Ana to get her hair cut at the salon. When he finds out about Jack breaking into there Condo, When he finds out she is pregnant and after her attack by Jack. also the masquerade ball, When they are in the Play room and she uses the safe word.Basically I want it all.

When I was reading Grey every chapter I thought OH man this is one of my favorite parts!!!

message 46: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Beverly, I can't wait for all of the above. I'm willing to wait until whenever because I know ELJ will deliver.

Lisa Did people really have to be so vicious to ELJ when she was kind enough to allow questions via Twitter? That's just so wrong.

Jacquelyn Lisa wrote: "Did people really have to be so vicious to ELJ when she was kind enough to allow questions via Twitter? That's just so wrong."

That's bullying. I can't understand how we expect the bullying problem in the schools to be solved if adults are doing it to other adults on viral posts.

message 50: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Exactly Jacquelyn. I still can't believe the men's comments.
