Lucas checks the time as he walks into his little apartment and curses. He was supposed to be at Zach's ten minutes ago and he still had to shower. The smell of grease and fast food wasn't pleasing. Lucas rushed through her apartment, getting ready.

Zach smiled a little as he played with his young son. He kept glancing at the time he had a meeting at work with a potential client and he couldn't be late. He worked for a law firm and had to meet the people and hear about what their complaint was before they got to the actual higher up lawyers.
Lucas ran out the door and jumper into his car. He drove to Zach's and jogged up to the front door. He knocked and stepped back. Luke ran a hand through his hair, chewing on his lip. He hoped Zach's didn't tell him he was through with him. This had happened a couple times lately because his boss continued to keep him behind for the stupidest reason.
Zach strode to the door and opened it with Isaiah running after him," daddy daddy I wanna pay!" He shouted. Zach frowned slightly," Saiah I have to leave Luke will play with you until I get back." He said softly to his son. Isaiah didn't like that answer and poured running off. "You're late again." Zach muttered grabbing his keys. "I'll be home in two hours." He told Luke before walking out the door
Lucas nodded and sighed. He watched as Zach's left then went to find Isaiah. He found him in his room on his bed. Lucas crouched in front of the bed and looked at Isaiah. "Hey, buddy." he said softly, touching his arm. Isaiah was a thin kid but crazy fast. "Do you want to play?" Luke asked the little boy.
Zach walked into the meeting just in time. He got everything together and talked with the clients for a few hours Isaiah shook his head," no I want daddy." He said pulling away from Luke. "You not daddy." He told him moving farther away from him on his bed.
"Isaiah. C'mon. Daddy will be home in a while." Lucas said, sitting back on his legs. He thought for a moment then looked at the little boy. "Do you want make pictures and cards for Daddy? I bet he would like that." Lucas suggested to the little boy, hoping he could fine something to get him up.
Isaiah looked at him," can we make the pituwes ouside?"He asked staring to smile a little bit at the thought of making something for Zach. The little boy adored his father and Zach was a pretty good dad though he worked a lot and had to have a lot of time away from Isaiah.
Lucas nodded. "Yeah. C'mon." he said, standing with a smile. He held out his hand to the Isaiah and then grabbed some paper and crayons. He took Isaiah into the backyard and placed the paper and box of crayons on the plastic toddler table on the deck. "Here you go, buddy."
Isaiah smiled and got out of his bed and held his had as they went out to the back hard. He sat down at the table and drew some pictures," woot wooke... It a bear." He told him tugging on his arm to get him to sit with him
Lucas smiled at the boy and his drawing. "That's very good, Isaiah. You Daddy will love it." he said, sitting on the deck beside him. He wasn't gonna fit on the little table. Oh, no. Lucas watched Isaiah color and praised him when he showed Luke his drawings.
Isaiah hummed softly as he colored numerous pictures then last one he drew was of him Luke and Zach. "Woot wooke.. Woot at I made!" He said proudly. "It for you." He said then ran off to go play on the swing set Zach had lovingly built for the boy
Lucas smiled at Isaiah and took the picture. He looked at it for a moment, grinning at the little stick figures and the spikes of hair they all had. Lucas looked back up and watched as Isaiah ran off to the swing set. Making sure non of the pictures would fly away, Luke stood and folded the one Isaiah gave him then put it in his pocket. He followed the little boy to the swings. "Having fun, buddy?" he asked.
Isaiah was trying to climb onto the swings for a little bit and then succeeded in getting on. He laughed a little bit and swung," push me pweeeeease?" He asked dragging out the e and looking up at him with big brown puppy dog eyes
"Sure thing." Lucas said then walked behind him. He gave himself gentle push not wanting to make him go too fast just yet. Lucas smiled softly and continued to push him. "Look at you go, Isaiah!" he exclaimed to the little boy.
Isaiah giggled and held on to the chains tightly," yay!!" He squealed," high high wooke." He called bouncing in the swing a little, as Zach walked out to the back yard," well someone is having a good time." He said walking off the deck and going towards the swing set. Isaiah squealed again,"daddy!!"
Lucas looked up when Zach spoke and wasn't sure if he should move or stay where he was. He continued to push Isaiah making him just a little bit higher than before. Lucas brushed his hair out of his eyes and glanced up at Zach as he walked over to the swing set.
Zach walked over to them after taking his tie and jacket off. "Did you have fun Saiah?"He asked watching them on the swings. Isaiah smiled and nodded," yeah and woote and I tolored." He said," woote I want down pease."
Lucas silently complied, gently slowing the swing to a stop then just lifted Isaiah down so he didn't struggle to do it. Lucas stood back and watched as Isaiah ran excitedly over to his daddy.
Zach smiled slightly," You colored with Luke. What did you color munchkin?" He asked picking Isaiah up and hugging him tightly. It was a lot harder to be a single dad than most people thought. He put the small boy down and looked over at Luke." You coming?"'he asked
Lucas nodded and walked back to the deck with them. He stood nearby and showed Isaiah where he had out all the pictures. He took them and handed the small stack out to the little boy.
Zach smiled as Isaiah showed him all of the pages he had colored and explained each one. Zach was kneeling down next to the boy and nodded each time Isaiah looked up. "They are all great Saiah." He said softly as he got up," come on let's go get something to eat... Do you want to eat with us?" He asked
Lucas bit his lip for a moment. He glanced at Isaiah then nodded. "I'd love too." he answered and moved away from the deck railing. He slid his hands into his pockets and he took out his phone. Lucas checked the time. He would have to leave in an hour if he still there. He had promised one of his friends he'd help him put together a bunch of bookshelves.
Zach nodded," Good.... Now go inside Saiah and find something for us to eat." He said as Isaiah ran off to the kitchen." Look I understand that you have another job on top of watching my son, but you've been late a lot this week." He said softly lookin over at Luke
This was it. Lucas knew it. "I know. My boss keeps pulling me into the office when my shift is over. I try to get here as soon as I can." Lucas said explained, looking up at Zach. He wasn't going to beg and plead nor was he going to try and guilt him by dating he needed the money.
Zach nodded slightly," really?" He asked," why does he do such a thing?" He asked knowing that Lucas was a good worker in the fact that Isaiah loved having him over. " I'm not saying that I don't want you to watch Isaiah for me I was just wondering if I was asking you to come over before your other shift was done."
Lucas shook his head, relief making it's way through him. He loved watching Isaiah. "It's stupid stuff. Things I can't even deal with. I don't know what's going on with him. Hopefully, it will stop soon." he answered, tugging at his lip with his teeth then stopping to talk again. "No. My shift is supposed to end ten minutes before I come over."
Zach nodded slightly," okay well I can always make my appointments later so that you don't have to rush around even if your boss calls you for whatever reason he is giving you." He replied wanting Lucas to stick around. Isaiah ran back out to the deck," daddy daddy we habe Mac n cheese?"'he asked Zach looked over at Lucas for a second then at Isaiah," Sure we can't
Lucas nodded at Zach. He wouldn't have to change a lot if them hopefully. He didn't mind it when he normally got off his shift but on days like today, it drove him insane trying to get here on time even though he was already late. He followed Zach and Isaiah into the house.
Zach walked into the house while Isaiah chattered about something and pulled him into the kitchen. "Do you want anything besides Mac and cheese?" He asked softly as he got everything out to make the pasta for his son
Lucas looked up. He wasn't sure if Zach was talking to him or to Isaiah so he just shook his head. He didn't mind what he had. Lucas then abruptly scooped Isaiah up, swinging him around playfully.
Zach nodded a little bit and just went about making their dinner and getting out stuff for sandwiches. He looked up at Isaiah's sudden squeal as he was spun around by Lucas. Zach smiled a bit and went back to making dinner
Lucas laughed with Isaiah, lifting him onto his shoulders. He grinned widely. Lucas seriously loved Isaiah. He was a sweet kid and despite things like earlier when he rejected him, it never lasted long.
Isaiah patted his head softly," Daddy daddy woot I tallwr than you!" He said laughing and still playing with Lucas's hair. Zach nodded," I see that.. Make sure you are careful with Lucas okay?" He asked knowing Isaiah could get a little wild when he was excited
Lucas kept a good grip on Isaiah, making sure he didn't fall off of his shoulders. He walked around with Isaiah but not far. Lucas felt Isaiah pup on his hair a little but didn't complain about it
Isaiah nodded," I nice to wooke he my buddy." He said giggling more as Lucas walked around.Zach smiled a little bit," I know he is." He replied finishing up their dinner. He got three plates and put half a sandwich and Mac and cheese on each one," Alight dinner is ready."
Lucas smiled and took Isaiah to the dining room. He lowered him off his shoulders and set him on one of the dining table chairs. Lucas got a plate and silverware for him and Isaiah.
Zach smiled and walked into the dining room," well it looks as if all of us have two plates each" he said seeing Lucas had set the table also. Isaiah was happily sitting in his seat waiting for food
Lucas blushed and ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry." he mumbled, toying with his lip ring. Lucas stacked the extra plates and set them aside.
