Robin Reads

One of the newsletters i get that promotes low price or free ebooks is Robin Reads. I like it for the very simple format of the email I receive and the wide variety of $0.99 or free books it lists. I have no idea what the cost is to the authors, but it is a cool newsletter that maybe you haven't heard of. If you want to message me with an email address, I could forward you my latest email I received from them for you to see.

I looked up the webpage for author sign-ups. and it is http://robinreads.com/author-signup/

My only relationship with them is getting their newsletter. I have no idea how I came to sign up for it, but I look forward to it. So many promo newsletters are irritating, or too limited in the variety they list.

I just thought someone might find it useful. I wish I had any idea of the cost, but I have no way to find out.

They have 30,000 subscribers, according to the site.

Thanks for finding the price. I've heard from one author that bookbub is about $600, so that is very inexpensive.

They look as if they will accept an entry for $0.00, with the thought that you have to wait behind paying customers for the first available empty slot, but if you try to submit it, it demands you choose a date slot, and then switches you to $15.

Anybody see a spike in sales after they paid some money? My budget doesn't stand for throwing it away where it won't do any good.

Bookbub's prices vary with genre and price, anywhere from a few hundred, to over $1000, as I recall. But Bookbub has 2 million+ subscribers, so per subscriber who'll see your book (if you can get an ad, which is hard) the price is about the same.

My guess is that it's much easier to get an ad on Robin's Reads than on Bookbub, depending on the genre. (For instance, I didn't see any examples of our genre when I looked thru the site.)

I didn't see any average sales figures reported on their site. For 30,000 subscribes, I'd expect a couple of dozen sales to result; maybe more if you have related books.

You might check Book Barbarian, which does report average sales (but not a range, as Bookbub does). The numbers they report probably scale to Robin's Reads.

The main thing is whether or not your genre is popular with the subscribers of that list.

My latest Robin Reads email had 1 Nonfiction (Clean Eating), 3 Romance (Highland Miracle, Chez Stinky, The Heart of a Soiled Dove), 1 Horror/Dystopia (Darkwalk), 2 says "Featured Book" (American Epidemic, Exiled: No Borders), 2 Mystery (AEGIS INCURSION, All Good Deeds), 2 Thriller (Clouded Rainbow, New World Orders), 1 Sci-fi and Fantasy (Overload Flux), 2 Steamy Romance (Deep Blue, Conjuring Darkness)
The email the day before that had: 1 Horror/Dystopia, 2 says "Featured Book," 2 Thriller, 2 Steamy Romance, 2 Mystery, 1 Nonfiction, 2 Sci-fi and Fantasy, 3 Romance

Hmmm, that may be worth it. I don't mind spending money on inexpensive ads if it'll help my sales.
