SOLVED. The main character was a king and I think his best friend's name was Trap? [s]

It's actually a series. And unfortunately, I remember hardly anything about it. I must have read it when I was just starting high school, so about...oh god, seven years ago or thereabouts? I remember that it was in the "Inspirational" section of the fictional books in my little hometown library. (Which basically just meant that it was fiction with maybe some Christian themes thrown in; like, "Yeah there's a god that people pray to and they're pretty okay.")

It was fantasy, in a medieval setting, and I remember that the main character was a king, his best friend's name was something like Trap (I think), Trap married a girl whose name started with a C, and the main character and his best friend were, at one point in the series, kidnapped and thrown into a gladiatorial arena to fight for their lives.

Honestly, that's all I remember. It might not be much, but I really hope someone can help me find this series. It disappeared from my library I think the year after I read it.

EDIT: I believe it's a YA series.
