Creating Challenges

while I love creating challenges sometimes I will need help too. If you have an idea for a challenge and you want to create it, that's great but please run it by me first in this thread. This is so the group will run smoothly and there are no conflicts with the challenges

When telling me about your challenge, briefly describe what your challenge will entail and how long you want the duration to be.

Hey Joanne- I want to do some sort of a Movie/TV book challenge, where we can read the related books that movies are based off of before they come out, same for TV shows.

Is there a minimum page number per book in this group?

not really. I'm not about limiting people to a certain number of pages. however if a challenge restricts books to a number of pages then you gotta follow the rule for that challenge only

I would love to suggest a challenge. I was thinking of a Top 100 Baby Names challenge. 100 of the top girl and 100 of the top boy names. You would have to read a book with a main or highly supporting character with the matching name. You could do different levels, say all 100 girls, or boys, or all 200 names, or 25/50 girls, 25/50 boys.. and the names wouldn't have to necessarily be spelt the same. Does that make sense? This may have already been done before but I didn't see anything.

yes Kirsten we canbdo that. would you like to make the challenge or would you like me to make it? also how long is the challenge going to be bc that would affect which folder it will be put in

I would love to do it if that is OK... but I would definitely want you to go over it and make sure everything is in place. I would say up to a year to complete it from the time you begin, it could be pretty long especially if you chose to do 200 names.

Ok sure. you can PM me the challenge when your done so I can look it over and then you can post it in the group.

Just a few things to think about:

1. Can a book be used for multiple names?
2. Do you wanna set up different durations depending on how many names participants wanna do?

Ok so you can create the challenge and PM it to me for approval. Once approved you can post it to the appropriate folder and handle everything from there like linking participants and answering questions about the challenge.

Is that ok?

I have an open ended challenge idea. You chose a song and I'll create a spreadsheet for you, but you take the lyrics of the song, and read books with the words in the title. For example:
All - All the Light We Cannot See
my - My Life Next Door
friends - Circle of Friends
are - The Darkest Hour (ARE is contained in the title)
heathens, - Heathens
take - Take Me with You
it - Written in Red (IT is contained in the title)
slow- The Slow Regard of Silent Things

Wow, you'd have to choose your song VERY carefully! Some of the words in song lyrics would be next to impossible to find in a book title.

Yeah, but you can also find all the letters of the word in titles for example,
It, can be found in the book Divergent

That would help, especially for shorter words in the lyrics :)
