Mark Pghfan | 95 comments There are talks for yet another re-make of Murder on the Orient Express. In my opinion, the 1974 version was great; the 2001 TV version was a big mess and Suchet's version was a discredit to the source material. What you you all think of this new one? http://www.thewrap.com/kenneth-branag...

Kirsten Personally, I wish they had chosen another book. Murder on the Orient Express already has a great version with the 1974 movie. I wish they were doing the The ABC Murders. I think that one would do well commercially.

Mark Pghfan | 95 comments I agree, Kirsten. There was a good Poirot adaptation some years ago, but a star-studded big movie would have been nice.

Kirsten It just feels like a waste to do the same one again when there are other books that are just as strong.

Brooklyn Tayla (bookishbrooklyn) | 121 comments David Suchet said that he would absolutely play Poirot again, especially for a cinematic adaption.

Kinda wish that this movie wasn't being made though, the 2010 adaption is impeccable & I hear there's other great versions too.

Unless this film has David Suchet in it, I can hardly say I'll rush out and see it if it's being made.

It's just that Agatha Christie wrote so many amazing books. Perhaps they should try making other adaptions out of those.

Annamarie (planewxgirl) | 59 comments David Suchet is really the best HP that ever played him. I have all the ones he made in my DVD collection. But yes, I agree. Not another MotOE! A very underrated book that wasnt made into a move but I found would be best on screen is After the Funeral! That would be excellent!

Annamarie (planewxgirl) | 59 comments After The Funeral is SO GOOD! The ending is just so creepy. But love it. Just love it.

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 367 comments Kenneth Branagh. He likes to direct and star in many of his productions like Shakespeare movies so does this mean he will play Poirot? The guy seems talented but some critics think he misses the mark (like the film Mary Shelley's Frankenstein).

Peekablue | 2 comments I am excited to see another adaptation. Maybe they will do others, if this one is successful. It will be odd to see anyone other than Suchet as Poirot. I haven't yet watched the 1974 version. I keep meaning to but aways put it off. I really enjoyed the Suchet MotOE the first time I saw it but then I read the book and rewatched it and realized that the ending was not quite the same. In the book, it seemed that Poirot let them all go out of kindness/sympathy but in the Suchet version, Poirot seemed very reluctant and disgusted with them all. And as for Brannagh's mustache, it is probably more true to the book than Suchet's. He is always described as having "moustaches," which (to me) implies something much more than the slim, heavily manicured thing that Suchet has (not that I don't like his).

Peekablue | 2 comments Also, nothing against Kenneth Branagh but I kind of wish that Johnny Depp was playing Poirot. .

The plan is that if this one does well they will do other adaptations. I read about that.

I totally agree! :( Surprisingly, that was what infuriated me the most. "Poirot's" moustache is clearly fake and abnormal! Why is this maddening you ask? David Suchet is the best HP ever. Also, the whole story line is supposed to be thrilling and spine-chilling. So why did the trailer evoke a boring and dumb atmosphere? Come on!

Jorge Granados (georgie2408) | 2 comments I'm excited about the movie because I've already finished the book, but not so for the new actor as Poirot
