I am assuming this gets better because book 1 was just okay

You assume correctly :) All books were good enough for me to continue with the series, but they really got better with later books

Thanks for the pick of World of the Lupi series - I'm now up to date. Finished up Ritual Magic (World of the Lupi, #10) by Eileen Wilks and Unbinding (World of the Lupi, #11) by Eileen Wilks
I was so glad to see that #12 was coming out in November. I thought Unbinding was the last in the series and was so sad as Lily and Rule play almost no part in this book. Love this series and am anxiously awaiting for end of year to get my hands on the next one :D

Snowtulip Theo, I just finished the Jasper Dent series, so glad you picked it for me. Wonderful trilogy!!

Joanne *Rachael* picks for me: Parasol Protectorate

I finished
Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger Blameless (Parasol Protectorate, #3) by Gail Carriger

It feels good to make some progress on a series. I rated both of them 4 stars and this series was chosen for me again in August so my goal is to read books 4 and 5 and complete the series. Thanks for picking this one!

Ora (oeamis) So I got a little later start on my series this month. I read Stay with Me (Wait for You, #3) by J. Lynn last week and will be reading Fall with Me (Wait for You, #4) by J. Lynn The beginning of the week

Christina T (crysteena73) | 1040 comments So far I've only managed to read one of my FWYS books by reading Demon from the Dark (Immortals After Dark, #10) by Kresley Cole only 5 more books and a novella yet to go LOL.

message 164: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 436 comments Melissa I finished The Infernal Devices.

I was a little disappointed about the series overall. I gave Clockwork Prince 4 stars and Clockwork Princess 3 stars. I liked it overall, but I find the pace of these books too slow, and I never really enjoy love triangles. I like the Mortal Instruments a lot better. Even though those books are just as long as these, I just seem to breeze through those.

I am happy that I finished this series though :)

Picked by — Ora

Thanks for the pick Ora! So glad I pushed through to get caught up!

Black Knights Inc.
Rev It Up — ★★★★ 7/10
I really liked this one, but it fell a little flat for me. I think there was too much whining from Shell. I totally get that Jake wronged her, but seriously woman, hear the man out...no one says you have to fall in bed with the guy...of course, where's the fun in the book if that doesn't happen! ;)

Thrill Ride — ★★★★★ 7/12
The name says it all! This book starts with a bang and doesn't let go until the bitter end! As much as I love my home town, it was nice to get the story out of Chicago for a while. The sparks were flying hot and heavy in the previous book...when they lit in this one, it was explosive! Vanessa was a kick-ass operator in her own right and an excellent compliment to Rock's hard edges.

Born Wild — ★★★★★ 7/18
Another wild ride from beginning to end! Billy and Eve have shown up throughout most of the other books....this is their story. I enjoyed the fact that Billy was the "wronged" party in this story. So often it's the other way around, but it worked well in this book. His mammoth-sized chip is better explained and he works through it pretty well before he gets even half the story. Eve who has been a quiet back character shows her chops! She's still a quiet character, but has a grown a backbone and then some! All in all a great story!

Hell for Leather — ★★★★ 7/22
I've been looking forward to Delilah's story for a while. She's been the tough-talking bartender from previous books. She was a more central supporting character in the previous book, so we got to see more of her personality shine through. The story was good, but not great for me. I felt like whenever the story was getting on a role, it tripped up. The relationship between Delilah and Mac was a slow burn that I never really felt got off the ground. I like these two characters individually, but I'm not as crazy about them as a couple.

Full Throttle — ★★★★★ 7/23
WOW...just, WOW! This book rocked from the very first page to the very end. I love this series, but this is my favorite book so far. Steady and Abby's story is romantic, kick ass, and tragic. My heart broke for these two...my tummy cramped from laughing so much. The banter between the two is what tipped the scales for me...for these two almost seem like they don't belong together, but they compliment each other...and that just jumps off the pages of this book.

I finished two in this series this month, The Stonecutter (Patrik Hedström, #3) by Camilla Läckberg and The Gallows Bird (Patrik Hedström, #4) by Camilla Läckberg . Both were nicely paced and good reads. I liked #3 a bit more than #4, but am enjoying the series so I'll definitely be continuing.

Thanks for the pick!

Zuzana | 1204 comments I finished my 2 books and it was a mixed bag -
the first one was a snoozer Dead Man's Ransom (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael, #9) by Ellis Peters and the second one was a winner The Rose Rent (Chronicles of Brother Cadfael, #13) by Ellis Peters .

Ora (oeamis) I completely forgot to post. I got two or the three book I was suppose to read. Finished Stay with Me (Wait for You, #3) by J. Lynn Fall with Me (Wait for You, #4) by J. Lynn . I really enjoy this series and hopefully get to Dream of You (Wait for You, #4.5) by J. Lynn in August. I definitely over extended myself with challenges.
