I love this idea!Lizz is there a place on the web where we will be able to watch title sequences? In case we've never seen the show before.
Will you be providing the list of tv shows or will it be like Dance Party and the players provide the show?

Great!
Question for the Name points, is the character in the book supposed the match the name of a character on the show or the star who plays the character? I thought character but then reread the wording in the rules and wasn't sure so I wanted to verify, thanks! :D
Also it will be "main" main characters not every regular character will be accepted. Some shows that would open it up to too many names.
I've noticed in the threads lots of peopel are unsure of the points so I am going to post an example. Let's say the show New Girl was called.
The Cheat sheet would look something like this:
New Girl-2011
Title Sequence
Shelf: Contemporary
Cover: Has a frame, a bed, a city scape
Plot: Character is a Teacher, Involves roommates
Title: New, Girl(s)
Name: Jessica, Nick, Schmidt, Winston
Setting: 2011 , Los Angeles
Here are some possible books to read:
= 5 points. 1 for shelf + 4 for girl in title
= 12 points. 1 for shelf + 6 for setting (2011) + 5 for character named Nick
= 11 points. 1 for shelf + 6 for setting (2011) + 4 for Girls in title
= 15 points. 1 for shelf + 6 for setting (2011) + 5 for author named Jessica + 3 for plot
= 12 points. + 6 for setting (2011) + 4 for girl in title + 2 for cover has a frame.
That example explains the points a lot. I do have one question and it may be retarded but what does the day 1, day 2 etc. mean?
Team Points
Day 1 or 2 = 4pt
Day 3 or 4 = 3pt
Day 5 or 6 = 2pt
Day 7 or 8 = 1pt
9 days or beyond no points.
If you team finished in 1 or 2 days your team gets 4 points and so on.
and your Individual points and Team points are added
EX:
If everyone on your team reads a book that will get 15 points and y'all finished in two days your team gets 4 points
So your team will have
60 points + 4 points for finishing in two day so your team has a grand total of 64 points
I hope that help

Yes
Yes
Quick question if one team member doesn't finish their book on time is the team scoreless for that week or only the one player?
For cover, when it says "item on cover links to title sequence or song" does that mean anything that is mentioned in the theme song or is shown in the title sequence will work or will there be a set list of items from which to choose?
Jenne wrote: "Quick question if one team member doesn't finish their book on time is the team scoreless for that week or only the one player?"The team will be scoreless until the player finishes. If it takes longer the team just won't get the team finish bonus for the week but the team will get points for each players books.

We will provide a few key things from the title sequence you could tie to the cover. But would be willing to accept others not on our list. (Unlike names that would have to be on our list) But it needs to be something important to the show or sequence. i.e. Walking Dead has a scene of a badge lying in the grass. I would take badge but not grass.
Will the cheat sheet be posted at the same time as the show or will it be posted a little bit later, like Dance Party did it?
Dawn (Kat N Hat) wrote: "Megan wrote: "For cover, when it says "item on cover links to title sequence or song" does that mean anything that is mentioned in the theme song or is shown in the title sequence will work or will..."Thanks, that helps me. I do have just one more question about the title sequences. A lot of shows will change up their intros and I was wondering if any season's intro works or just season one? Also, does the same rule apply to the plot or will that work the same as the names?
Just to expand on what Lizz said for plot. It needs to be about the show. If in one episode someone learns to ride a bike that wouldn't be enough of the shows focus to tie to a book. It needs to be something that connect to any given episode or a season in general.
Are rereads allowed if it's been more than say a year since we read them? I wouldn't mind listening to some Sookie Stackhouse books again especially since I paid for them on audible.

yes rereads are fine but you have to really reread them not just the good parts

A quick question. As for point given based on day, what if I read and finish the book in one day, but it is Friday. So I'll get 2pt, right? I assume we start on Monday.
If your whole team gets done reading and reviewing on Friday and then yes your team will get 2pt.

I see :) But item is posted just so we can prepare for Monday the following week, right? Or It starts right away?

You start reading Friday after the show is posted
You start reading Friday after the show is posted
With the plot point for family drama- what would qualify? Does have to be explored throughout the book or can it be a result of an important plot twist that isn't revealed until the end?
