This book club is one of the many times when having a Kindle comes in handy. I downloaded Black Iris last night and, while it's not my usual type of book (which is a good thing), I love the writing style. Thanks for doing this, Marina!

No problem, but I can't take all the credit, the lovely Mykia is the Queen of the club, and myself Jess and Summer are helping.

Hey @Claire I just stared it, eh, yesterday kinda, and I love the writing so far as well! I don't really know what's going on but there are some lines that are just too beautiful it hurts! So glad you gave this book a shot! :D

Just finished it. I really don't know what I'm feeling right now. The only thing I cant think is...consuming. I'm not sure I even really liked it, but I couldn't put it down.

I need to think about this a little bit more!

Definitely join!!! More perspectives!! :) I got my on amazon, I got the kindle version, just because I wasn't going to pay for a paperback just in case I didn't like the book lol

Finally got the book from the library and I have a story for how I got it.

I put it on hold last week and it arrived at my local branch on Monday. I didn't go get it immediately because I wanted to read this other book I already had checked out since it was due soon. Plus, you get about a week to pick up any book you put on hold. Yesterday I went to the library to get the book but it wasn't on the hold shelf. I talked to the librarian and her computer says it should be there but she said to check the regular stacks. Of course, there it was. But it was obviously water damaged. When I tried to check it out they couldn't find the library barcode. It appears that someone took my book off the hold shelf, tore off the barcode that the library taped on, took it home read it, got it wet and then just brought it back and put it on the regular fiction bookshelf, in order. Who does that? Anyway, the librarians discussed it amongst themselves and just stamped it and gave it to me. I am now the proud owner of a slightly damaged copy of Black Iris. Just thought I'd share.

I started reading this this week and have been trying to catch up. I agree, I'm not sure I like it yet but I can't seem to put it down.

I felt the same way for a little while but then I kept reading and it's getting better! I think it's super interesting and I don't know what's going on the story so i need to find out! I hope it gets better for you!
