Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I'm in the midst of overloading my kindle for the summer, as I'm never sure what I'll be in the mood to read.

The only definite I've got so far is Finders Keepers

What's on your summer TBR?

message 2: by David (new)

David Hadley I don't think I have one, just a unread folder where I put everything waiting to be read that stays there throughout the seasons until I stumble across them after I finish the previous book.

Of course, you question does presuppose us having a summer, which is not necessarily always the case.

message 3: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Generally it's whatever I'm asked to beta read next.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments That Autism one looks really interesting.

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments Yes, it's supposed to be a very good introduction to it.

The author is actually Sacha Baron-Cohen's (the Ali G dude) brother.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I've got An Officer and a Spy because my book group has chosen it. I always read The Summer Book in the summer because it makes me happy (I tell people if the first page doesn't make you smile then it's not for you). I've just started A Darker Shade of Magic which is shaping up nicely. And I'm going to reread The Lord of the Rings because it's been too long really (just skipping the Tom Bombadil bit like I usually do) And I'm also going to reread Miles Cameron's The Red Knight and The Fell Sword in preparation for book no 3 which is released in October. Oh and I feel like some Iain Banks so The Steep Approach to Garbadale which I haven't read yet. And a book by Grayson Perry Playing to the Gallery which was on a list of best summer reads (along with a load of old tosh!). He's very clever and very funny.

Pete Carter (petecarter) | 522 comments Summer reading:
1. The gas meter
2. The leccy meter
3. The bill.
or seriously:
1. The next one I promised to review (on my nexus)
2. Goto 1

Bookworm | -183 comments Don't really have a reading list, depends on my mood. Or recommendations.

That's the way I work too

The closest I get to a system is not wanting the next book to be by the same author as the one I've just finished, or preferably not in the same genre if fiction, or a similar subject matter if non-fiction.

message 13: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Marsh | 616 comments I drop books into a to be read file on my kindle and read as I feel fit. I also have a pile of books, browse then read as takes my fancy. They all get read at the end of the day, but the file/pile never becomes empty.

message 35: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Ward | 4 comments Heya - I'm a newbie here, first post...

I'm reading The Hunger Games and Atonement next. I've also got Still Alice on my list as my last amazing job was in a care home that looked after dementia patients, so I'd like to read it and then watch the film too.

Also, I've just read a book (that my friend has written), called The Walnut Tree, so I may be biased, but it was a page turner...

Find out more here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Good luck with ticking off your summer reads folks!
Victoria

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I think if Kath and Patti haven't read it by now then no amount of cake or bacon will get them to read it, ever.
