Donna (dkflynn33) | 4 comments I'm glad everyone is enjoying the book. Is anyone else planning on reading more books in the series? I certainly am.

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 407 comments I thought I had my reading all planned out this month, but now I really want to read The Apprentice. Plans all out the window...

Happens to me all the time. Have a list of books I really do want to read who might have been on my to-read list for quite a while and probably have already bought. Along comes the next recommendations either by my book clubs GR recommendations, birthday presents or even a wander around in the library and the list goes out of the window and they have to wait. It's a bit pathetic, but makes me feel guilty sometimes, like choosing a popular child over the good and patient ones!

shanghao (sanshow) | 123 comments Just finished it, it was a page turner, but I guess I'm more a mystery rather than a thriller fan.

Not compelled to read the next one, although I did enjoy the medical terms and descriptions, but not so much the characters, especially Cordell. Rizzoli I thought was quite well-drawn and if I do read the next in the series it would be to see her grow as a character.

M. Dobson (meg_evonne) | 109 comments Chance, or maybe it was Audible's forcast mode, dropped a later book of this series into my daily deal. As it was on the reading list and I've always intended to read, I downloaded the more expensive "The Surgeon" instead.

I'm so glad that I did. What a great book to introduce the characters. I'm only in halfway, and enjoying the ride. I will be reading (and or listening to) more!

Elizabeth Calder (tigerlilly324) | 1 comments I just finished reading this yesterday. Out of the box, the author captures the reader's attention like a killer bee to bare skin. I'm not normally a fan of the gore but she described everything in meticulous detail making the more shocking scenes clinical. It was definitely a page turner and once I started I couldn't put it down. Most definitely going to add some of her other novels to my TBR file.

M. Dobson (meg_evonne) | 109 comments I finished the book this AM. Excellent with interesting characters and tight plot. Then one blaring error pops out at the worst crucial time. Police weapons are pulled from the officer after a shooting, right? Perhaps I missed where she is using a personal weapon? ugh.... and dang.... Still good though. Note that I'm using an Audible copy, so I can't flip back pages to check.

Also from a writer's perspective I am bothered by the anger she holds after the shooting incident when she is speaking with her partner. I know that she's a brazen and a hard-female-professional-against-the-male-establishment character, but I wanted to see more remorse--if not for her mistake, then for her career. I don't want her to pull out a knife and slash her wrist, and certainly not in public, but... I remind myself this is a first book of a series. I will read (listen) to more.

Totally agree,if there ever was a page turner, this is one. MOst of the series is like that although I found the last few a bit disappointing.

I've read them all and loved them. I've even read the short stories.
