Loved the 2002 film with Jim Caviezel and Helen McCrory but am embarrassed to admit I've never finished the book. Have the complete works of Dumas on the kindle though and hope to find time soon for this or maybe Musketeers. Or should I try one of his less read works?

I used to rage at the injustice of it all, but I couldn't stop reading. We also owned an abridged copy with marvelous illustrations, and I used to swoon over Mercedes.
